adewpearl--Congratulations on your win
with this Spring gem. Sorry I missed it
while on the active list and the voting
booth. Each stanza, although made up of
short lines, offers imagery laden nuances
for the season of revival. Also, excel-
lent end rhymes provides melodious tone
for the engaging post. The title is dual-
istic and is perfect in its repeat as a
coda. teafor2

This review is way too late, but as the saying goes, it's better late than never. And as Tati and I say, it is difficult to review your work. We end up in praising .. ha-ha! So I don't try to review, I just say congratulations...
PS. And thanks for the new word: spring peepers

Congratulations, Brooke. Just noticed you won the springtime poetry contest! Way to go. :) This poem really deserved to win; it's utterly charming. I especially love the last stanza; what can compare to young love? :)

Thank you, John. I wrote and posted this back in February when the contest was first announced, so this surprised the heck out of me this morning. :-) Thanks for reviewing when it is now paying only 2 cents :-) Nope, young love is THE best. Brooke

Jo Lynn, I wrote and posted this back in February - I literally had to read it again to remind myself what the heck I had written - yes, I'm pleased - what a lovely way to start the month. Thank you and happy June. It is good to see you :-) Brooke

Brooke, what a beautiful poem, worthy of winning the contest. Your gift is amazing. Do you have any work in print or is your writing just a hobby? You have been blessed indeed. Congratulations!
The tapping of woodpeckers
begins on budding trees,
as maple sap flows freely,
released from winter's freeze
(I love this verse)

Cassandra, I need to work on publishing next. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your thoughtful review, especially when this pays all of 2 cents now. :-) Brooke

You're welcome and I have no doubt you'll be successful in publishing. A large majority of the work I review doesn't pay. I just enjoy the various talents we have here on FS. I write and usually review mostly prose, so I haven't reviewed a lot of your work, but every time I do, it leaves me breathless from its beauty. I'm not being poetic here, I'm serious..lol Take care
Cassandra

I love peepers and when I hear them and the loons, I know that spring has sprung.
Your imagery is lovely, and the mood so gay and pleasing.
