Hi smurphgirl,
This story is one we hear about much too often. I always feel pain for the children who are treated this way. They are too young to understand what is happening and why. Of course, that depends upon the child's age. It is a good sign when a girl like you can reach out and tell their story as you have done. I want to read more. Keep it coming. God loves you,
Janet
P.S: Wish I had a six-star for you, but I'm out.

Another captivating chapter in your book. I am reading parts of this out of sequence, but it is all coming together. I truly sympathize with the victim in the story. I was recently working with a woman who was FULLY aware her daughter was being abused by her husband--and did absolutely NOTHING about it. It was beyond my comprehension. An honest and sad piece of writing.

I am pleased you like my book. Clearly it does not fall into the "entertainent" category but I do try to portray myself as I was at the time. When writing your own story is is difficult to be honest but honesty is the most important aspect of an autobiography. Thanks for your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

I knew I recognised your name when you dropped by earlier, I read some of this earlier in the week. Such a hard story to tell... yet it needs to be told. Well done. Elaine

This sounds like a horrific story that's going somewhere. I wanted to read more. Unfortunately I did not read the first seven chapters.

Chap 8 opens with the narrator excited about daddy's return. I thought it was a positive excitement, as opposed to trepidation. Did you intend for the narrator to look forward to daddy's return in the first paragraph?

Yes. Valerie is an 8 year old child confused about her father's inappropriate behavior. She only recently realized that what he was doing was wrong. As a child she pushes the problem from her mind during the day and only faces the problem when it confronts her. As a child she is also filled with hope that tomorow everything will be better. Does that help?
