its so hard sometimes to move ahead in life when things around you go spinning out of control. before my real dad and his wife and kids came in and helped me pull through i went from loss to loss. my sister was raped by my drunk as step dad. she died giving birth. my other sisteer kkilled her self an my mother wasss beatenup annd sdhe diied a week later from some internal injures that the doctors were unasable to fix. the man who did all these things which tore my family apart went and is still in prison for what he did. the only person left in the family, my brother hates me bacause he blames me and my real dad for everything that was taken from us.

life is never easy. i hope that what ever happened to you wasn't as bad as anything i have been put through and i hope what ever it was didn't effect you in a bad way. hope your well.

Moving narrative with actual sound emanating from the well chosen and heartbreaking words. This happens so much more than any of realize...why! Well why do any bad things happen....better end here. Good work, you are a real Wordsmith.

Yes...why? And never an answer. Selfishness and no empathy is the only thing that can possibly come to mind, yet it still isn't good enough. Thank you for your very kind review and lovely compliments. With regards, Sue

Hi sixteez.
These happenings are dreadful. You have written about it very well in an objective way. I see your talent.

once a victim, always a victim, and it never goes away, the hardness part is seeing people that were involve and try to forget, this is wonderful, emotional, and great writing, I knew I liked you a lot,

grace, I had a man review this and saying he was in the "medical profession" that I had to change my "attitude", not to say one is "forever a victim". I was so cross. From everyone I've heard from who has been a victim, considers themselves "always a victim". Sure, time and help can soften the blow and help one move on, but it is life-altering. I see it every day with my dear close one, who will forever be a victim. Her life has completely changed. Thank you so much for this very kind review. And your compliments. Fondly, Sue

From what I understood of this poem, we're talking about child molestation. I had a friend who's cousin was a victim of that, what's worse is her mother told the child it was her fault! WTH? So my friend won custody of her cousin in court, got her out of their and raised her for three years until she was 18. I couldn't believe it though, didn't think the girls mother would allow something like that, and especially not blame her for it...sickening. Great job on this poem.

A very well written piece on a very sad issue. It's hard for anybody to fully understand the lifelong effects of being victimized in this way. Thanks for sharing.

The story here is played over and over like a broken record in our lives. My sister was violated by her grandfather whom she loved dearly at the tender age twelve. She hates men today and lives with a gentle woman, what more can I say. Thanks for posting this as a reminder of these tragedies in llife. Sincerely, Don

Too many victims, too many times. Your poem is well done, nicely shaped, and speaks to the heart of an all-too-commmon happening.

There seems to be a streak of sadistic violence that infects some mortal souls and turns them into monsters. How could anyone abuse a trust? What sort of brain disorder can cause such crimes against the heart and soul of innocents that extend a lifetime? This is a very thought-provoking piece, Sue. Very well written. Blessings, Linda

You are the victim as long as you allow yourself to be. It serves a purpose, but then your innre warrior must come out to heal the wounds and take control. It is a very strong poem.

Happy writing
Michelle
