Yet another outstanding poem -- but then of course, this is why you are number one and deservedly. One of the things I also enjoy about your work is your spot-on ability to match your pictures with the imagery in your words, making the poem doubly enjoyable. Best of luck.

Hi Brooke, thought I've read your entry already. Must have confused with your other Minute poems. Needless to say, this is another great composition from you. All the best.

Very beautiful poem, Pearly One! You have used some of my very favorite words in this one...
ambrosial (wine,)
(sweet) jubilee,
hummingbird,
butterfly
For me, these words conjure up enjoyable images that are fun to see in my mind and I like the ringing sound of them too. For me, poetry is best when it reads out loud well and this one certainly does that!

The picture is pretty. The poem goes well with it. It conjures up images of fields of flowers and butterflies. It is a peaceful scene full of life and hope.

Very well done, Brooke. The flow was excellent and the imagery you brought with your descriptions. Can visualize the hummingbirds drinking the nectar. No changes to recommend. Excellent job and good luck in contest. Joyce

No wonder the Gods of old drank ambrosia! With poems like this, it truly is the drink of the gods. Really lovely the way this is written. Best of luck in the contest!!

Great job Brooke! I like the minute verse treatment of the Honeysuckle. I wrote a haiku about it last year after walking with Mischief one day. I know it's just a weed (around here) but it smells so good!

Weed is in the eye of the beholder, I still think Dandelions and Buttercups are beautiful!

Yes memories are always treasured and more often triggered by a lake or a park. However the beauty within your words draws my attention to the indescribable beauty of nature, its very life is a gem.

As I read your poem memories of the honeysuckle from my childhood came to mind. As children we pulled out the little stem and tasted the sweet nector. This is so descriptive.
