No sixes left to give, but this deserves one. Your imagery is masterful!
Her sparkling fairy dust chilled by the cold
formed into flakes of six-fold symmetry.
I love that image. You've followed the traditional style and flavor of classic poetry, with the wonderful subject of winter. The story you have woven is delightful: winter fairies! Thought they might freeze out there, but apparently they don't. This line was my favorite because it is so inspiring:
This winter wonderland from gloom had grown
because of one who never lost belief.
Brooke, your poetry is like the winter wonderland you have created for your readers. You are certainly the magical fairy of this realm, and my own 'good fairy'.
Well done! ;-)

Hi, Brooke.
love the pic and used it for my last haiku.
This is the first time I've seen you adhere to perfect meter (apart from second last line) and IMHO you've done a stunning job. Maybe it's just me, but this form is so much easier ta read and the words and 'story' just rolled off my tongue. Great rhyme, alliteratio, and original stunning lines make this an absolute treat. ; ?
'The-IC-i-CLES-all-GLIST-en-WIND-som-BLOWN'
Anyway, a sixer in my money. Brilliant.
Merry Christmas and luv, Ray xx

Ah, Ray, I am so pleased the meter is in tune with you :-)
I'm also glad you like the story - thank you for your most generous review and lovely comments, Brooke

What a wonderful spin you've put on a bleak time of year. Looking out my window, I'm trying to see the ground as a "dazzling mantle". ---- Nope, still just nasty snow!
Anyway, this is a great poem with a beautiful story well told.

I actually hate most aspects of snow - the fact it gets dirty, the fact it makes it so hard to leave the house as I have bad knees, the cold - I'm ready to move to warmer climes. I do love how beautiful it is after it has first fallen, that's about it. LOL My daughter, for whom I write my fairy poems, requested a winter wonderland one, so I wrote! Thanks so much, Brooke :-)

What a lovely ballad. Even that some people wlouldn't agree with you at the moment. Especially if they live in the Northern states of the U.S.
But apart from that, I do agree. Snow is something magic. And it would need a fairy queen to invent it.
Well done!

Oh, snow is only lovely to me a few minutes after it first falls and only then when I do not have to walk or drive outside and if I have not lost my electricity, but my daughter wanted a winter wonderland fairy poem! LOL Thanks so much, Brooke

This is a lovely storyn within a poem, a true pleasure to read. I like the way your mind creates such enchanting takes on the different things in life.

You've done it again, dear friend. Your poem is a lovely fantasy, picturesque in detail, and heartwarming in beauty.
You have made my evening. It seemed all the best writers had gone away for the holiday, leaving me lonely and despairing of good material to review.
Sigh...I feel much better now. Thanks! :)

Thanks so much - my daughter is visiting me, but she also spends time with her in laws, so I still have time alone! Brooke

The sibilance in Verse 1 just sounds like the windIt just takes one to make a difference in the world on any issue and Felicity was the one to make a stand.
"While most allowed this freeze to overwhelm,..." others couldn't think of anything to do, the Wind was more powerful, what can 1 little fairy do? Where there's a will there's a way and help was achieved.
The winter Wonderland grew because the fairy didn't stop believing. Is there a message here re Christmas? Keep believing in Jesus and miracles will be shown to you. Great work.

Magical and fun, fairies and snow.
You have painted a wonderful image of both, and woven a story filled with delightful images.
Very well done.

Brooke this is another peaceful and pleasant poem. I liked the picture it formed in my head. It was highly visual and pleasant. A very nice piece for any time of year. The colour of the text stands out well on the green background. The picture added depth to the poem also.
