(Sniff) Oh Brooke, this is so sweet. And I love that you've included the Fey as part of God's creation. They are seen as either imaginary or evil by so many.

Occasionally I see them as mishievous as I did in my most recent poem about fairy dust and the unicorn, but I don't like evil fairies - I most often picture them as benign and certainly as part of God's creation! Thanks ever so much for this generous review!

A beautiful Christmas poem, and an interesting twist on the Nativity. And why not? If a saint can have elves to help him, than certainly a fairy can do God's bidding.

Nicely done! Merry Christmas!

This is a delightful poem and sets the proper mood for the season. Both the background color and the picture are most appropriate.

I hope this helps and good luck.

What a great take on the origin of the holly bush and the place it takes in our Christmas festivals. It grows on Vancouver Island and my mother-in-law always used to send us some every Christmas as it sure doesn't grow here in freezing Saskatchewan! This year we are going to the Island for the holidays so we will have holly for decorations again.

Wow. Sent chills down my spine as I read this, and then reread it two more times. Love the story and the thought behind it. Should become a classic. Thanks for sharing.

I am always pleased when a male reader likes my fairy poems at all, so I am thrilled that you like this poem as much as this. If someone outside of my target audience sees something in my writing, I am deeply moved. Thank you ever so much, Brooke

I respect great writing. And this has a "feel" of a Christmas poem that will endure the test of time. Wish I had a "10" to give instead of the "6."

Great poem! Easy to follow and entertaining to read. The story behind the words very pleasant telling of the time when Christ was born. A different angle to a familiar story.

Very well done, thank you so much for sharing.

What a beautiful tale. You are a wonderful story-teller in rhyme. Everything flowed so nicely and the words were all well-chosen. I can learn from this poem and I sincerely enjoyed your artistry!
Take care
Kristin

Hi Brooke....this is a lovely poem from the well chosen words to a musical rhyme. I love the notion of fairies and this poem is just as magical as their name implies. A good poem for the Christmas season....well done....blessings...chey

I read this earlier, but didn't have a chance to review (as has often been the case lately - something I'm trying to rectify), so I'm back. I read it again and loved it as much the second time around. This wonderful, uncomplaining fairy has a place in God's heart through 'humble obedience.' A lesson to learn as my complaints and stubborness take me further away. The image of the fairy's new garb is vivid and brings to mind images that I have seen at Christmas for years. What a lovely explanation. THe artwork is grand too. I can't think of a single thing that I would change, Brooke. You should submit your collection of beautiful Christmas poems for next Christmas.

Hi Brooke,
This is outstanding, and if I have a 6, this earns it.

The Holly and the Ivy is one of my favorite Christmas songs.

I love the way God is portrayed as so loving, and the way the fairy is kind and giving. (They're not always portrayed that way!)

This was original and refreshing.

Yes, I am not a fan of God when portrayed as that guy who kills entire towns and gives them boils and stuff!! I'd stop being a believer if I thought there were any truth in that interpretation!! Thanks ever so much for this most wonderful response and generous review! Brooke
