How very sad yet so touching and beautiful.. You have a way of pulling at the reader's heartstrings with your compelling passions! Again and again your tender strokes softly allure the reader's emotions! Really loved this one!!!

If you read no others after this, you must read "My Prayer to Thee". I know you will understand where I'm coming from. Thank you so much darling man. Sent you an email to that address you gave me. *kiss*

Dawn of Tomorrow,

Applause to you for this accomplishment of the very pleasing sonnet style and the presacribed rhyming pattern. Kind of a lost love type message.

Good poetry and good luck in the contest.

Duane

Lovely! What gets me, is the fact that you even wrote like our old poets (I don't mean in age, I mean because they have lived long ago). This is not a criticism, on the contrary. Not many people can do that. Maybe you should develop that as one of your styles.
I love the line: "Now in the end my sanguine dream must bleed".

Actually this is one of my styles. It's the more modern voice that I struggle with, go figure. Muse must be from back in the day...thanks for your wonderful words of review.

Well I know this probably is stated so darn much but I think you have penned a very lovely sonnet. I myself do not know a lot about the sonnet. I just wrote my first one last week (I hope), but anyway your sonnet is a beautiful read and shows so much tenderness and the rhymes are not forced.

I will have to check it out. I love to write sonnets and rondeaus another form that I'm very fond of. Thank you for your time, much appreciated.

I is interesting that writers have to explain their forms. The last site I used had a section with tons of forms. Although, here it is much more professional. The flow was excellent and I was carried easily along. Great read. joan marie

I think writer's chose to explain them more than anything else. So many don't know and since this is for a contest for that type of writing it's important that they know. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review, much appreciated.

I agree, I only mentioned it because the other site not as comprehensive. Would be great to have list with definitiions and samples so we could try new things not just in contests. But I do agree with what you said.jm

There is a site called shadowpoetry and it has such a list, that is where many of us go to find things like this to try out. That is where I learned of the Rondeau and now that form is one of my favorites to write in. You might find it a useful tool.

Oh, what a beauty, Jo Lynn! I just love its plangent lament. Your words are well chosen and your images finely drawn. Perhaps because I always write about a real love, I felt that you did too, but I'm not prying. Peter

No, not prying, you're right. Almost everything that comes from my pen is based on reality. Thank you for feeling that. Hugs, JL

The form is great. The message is sure to resonate with anyone who has loved -- and lost. Your art choice is in harmony with the words -- in shades of brillance and muted shades of dark. Good luck.
