Brooke,

You have done it again. A wonderful job with "Lady Macbeth." Fantastic choice of words, put together in a manner that allows this piece to flow smoothly. k

brooke,
one play i have never actually read thoroughly but knew roughly, and now i know more. LOL you explain it so well. all i know is the part where lady macbeth is saying out! out! damn spot~ my cousin said this for weeks after she read the play. why? cause she grew up in a strict religious home and it was the only way she could say damn. LOL easy to read and follow. no spaggies do i see. imagery is excellent. keep up the good work~
love,
barbara

No one does this sort of poetry better than you! Very, very well done. I've been out of pocket --or at least away from the computer-- the last few days, so I'm just getting around to catching up this morning. It's been a great Holiday, but I was having such fanstory withdrawal that I found myself writing at midnight last night!

Anyway, your post is of your usual superior caliber. enjoyed. ann

You've done it again! A wonderfully
told tale, using the alphabet to
transport the reader to the world
of MacBeth and all its sinister
glory. Your words are well-chosen
and carry with them an invitation
to another of the Bard's masterpieces.
Wonderful work! Carolyn

I enjoyed reading MacBeth- probably more than several other required high school reads. I remember her hands -the 'blood' she saw and could not wash away....

This is a fantastic poem. The G/H's were my favorites. It brought memories of the play to life- things I thought I had forgotten!

Ellie, you are most kind - several people like the G-H section the best - it's always good to find out what works as well as what doesn't work. :-) Thank you, Brooke

This poem is an interesting re-enactment of the classic play, Macbeth. I enjoyed reading it, particularly, your clever use of all the alphabets to conjure various images that describe various scenes of that tragic drama. kudos.

"Lady Macbeth in A-Z land" is a fast paced poem that read a little choppy for me at first, but on second read could feel it rhythm. Poem is filled with words that bring up fast moving images, like a story.

oh, please do reread - the classics are always more fun when not involved with school where you have to take tests on them that make you hate them this is a rousing good story! Thanks so much for your great review :-) Brooke

Brooke- I am amazed you just pop these out. Amazingly fast. How cool.

What a great line this is-
Lady left mad

And of course this-
Soul terrorised

And this is a great list of g's here also.
Guilt gnaws, gilded grooms, gated Hell.

I did not pick up this was a Macbetht till I read your notes. I lear a lot from you, and today I learned about Mcbeth.
Thanks for posting
Scott

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

This very accomplished poet/writer/author always knows that when she does a piece that falls under commentary and philosophy; with me as a reviewer of her work- leaves it wide open for comment and a factor of debate. There are only a few aspects that I do not see any reason why she had to go into such depth and detail in her authors notes, other than to explain to those who have never read any Shakespeare at all or any of his works of Macbeth. I feel that her authors notes have taken from her wonderfully written piece and executed so perfectly in the A-Z form. Let's face it, we are all writers here and the majority of this forum has had to read Shakespeare's Macbeth either in high school or literary classes in collage. The piece has such a wonderful flow, it interprets the story of Macbeth and of Shakespeare so very astutely. This piece also has style that we do not see very much any more these days and if one can remember the days of the french and the beatnik in the coffee houses then you have a style of poetry that is so self explanatory, descriptive, has action and is also understandable. I simply loved this piece and the style in which she executed it in. The explanatory factor in the authors notes, I do get her reasons why it is there and for the length there of (because it is a commentary and a philosophy piece). But unless this piece was for a contest entry in that category, I would have just like to have seen and read it has one fantastic piece of poetic work from this very talented poetic artist and plainly listed under Poeyic poem/ A-z. Great piece, great fun.

thank you so very much for your wonderful review of the poem
you should read the comments I get from many reviewers on the literary poems - not nearly as many of them as you would guess are familiar with the classics or remember them from the one time they were required to read them in school - lots of people thank me for the notes because they needed them. And yet, you are not the only reader I have who would prefer poems without notes. I should be able to post two versions, with and without so people can choose! LOL
As it is, I include them and those people who don't read them can just skip them. You are a most thoughtful reviewer and I very much appreciate the knowledge you bring to your reviews! Brooke

I understand in regards to the notes. I have run across so many who have actually no clue-lol.... I am so torn because, I fail sometimes to understand that there are actual poetic writers and poetic readers who are not acquainted with Shakespeare and such classics, but I know there are. Don't mind me sometimes, I shake my head in bewilderment, a lot! LOl...-Lynnor

after you wrote to me I got several additional reviews telling me they had hated Shakespeare when forced to read him in school, etc. and thanked me for the notes that had now cleared things up for them! I actually find myself encouraging people to give the Bard a try now that old lady teachers are not testing them on him any more. I would feel great if I thought I had actually brought someone to a classic as an adult! :-D
