This poem is lovely and very touching. The language is really beautiful. I love the image of the "giggles in the fine-knit toes" and "the softness of the sweater's knit and purl"--all very sensual and really gives us a feeling for this box of baby clothes. Bravo!

This is truly touching and beautiful, Brooke. I'm certain what you said in your notes is true about divorce doesn't mean you don't still love an ex-spouse. I think that speaks highly of both ex-spouses. The poem is a joy to read!

Best of luck!

Marjorie

Marjorie, thanks so much -this poem means more to me than almost any I've written in a long time as it is for my daughter and about the man I loved, her dad. thank you, Brooke

Wow, that is a wonderful poem inspired by a wonderful story. Yes, sometimes you can love someone and just not be able to live with them. These choices are tough, but often unavoidable. i am so proud your daughter will have these darling momentos.

Well-written piece of art. And I liked the artwork too. Your poem reminded me of my seven yearold son when he was still a baby and your words are exactly what I felt. You captured the picture of a mom going through all her child's priceless treaasures of childhood. Great job!

Love,
Isis

This is a wonderful and heartfelt poetic story of part of this poets life that did not end with a divorce, nor did it begin with one. But it continued to fill and carry on for this authors love and child through her ex-husbands baby cloths that had been kept in a small box of memories to be passed on to future generations of his to come. There is no one who can add or change or edit any aspect of this piece except the author/poet herself, for it is as individual as the memories themselves. Wonderful piece and nicely written.

thank you for this most lovely review that truly understands everything I was saying - I went to nominate you for your earlier review tonight but found out I'd used my 6 nominations for the month!! Brooke

I know what you mean, there have been so many times I have wanted to nominate and give higher ratings, only to find I have used up my allotment for the month and week- it's just not fair to limit me that way, lol.... Thank you any way, I appreciate the thought.-Lynnor

I ams so upset I ran out of 6 stars but this poem deserves the rating. An amazing tribute and, yes, that feeling of finding such items in a long forgotten box is a thrill you captured. I also agree - when you share a life with someone, you can't just erase your feelings, even if it doesn't work out as intended. Excellent! -- Sincerely, Leah

The memeory box has some good memories assorted with it. The baby clothes are associated with some fond memories. These are memories that should always be preserved.

This is so beautiful and well done. I agree with you about the lingering love after a divorce. I think once bound so tight it never fully dies. Blessings and luck. L&P2u
