Life is like the leaves on a rose, it fades away and dies. Then the rose is the life after if we know the Lord who made us. We may fail here but up there we never will know failure. Thank you for sharing your poem. JM

Excellent job in writing this very insightful poem about the qualities of the rose which teaches us all wisdom if we have the eyes to see.

Great expressions throughout each line is very creative and rhymes very well. Each line flows smoothly into the next, it is a pleasure to read. The photo of the red rose inspired me to read the whole post, it was a very pleasing read.

I loved the rich expressions in your poem like incandescent glamour and timeless reverie. If that had been a writing prompt, to use those two expressions in a poem, I doubt it could've been written more beautiful.
It put a velvety feel to the picture of the rose above.

I Love this piece. The language and the flow are just sublime as you take me on your vision of the rose. The sign of Love pulses with life through the words you pluck from your soul and place upon the empty page. O know nothing of form when it comes to sonnets but I do know what makes my soul sing with delight and this piece certainly does that. Your piece flows with the love of the rose,

A wonderfully romantic English sonnet. Nice abab rhyming using colorful imagery and alluring alliteration, like red rose, virgin velvet vow, symbol souls, alas alarm, died discarded,

Thank you for reprising this poem so that more of us could enjoy it. I enjoyed your alternating rhymes in this sonnet and your evocative, final couplet. You chose a striking picture too. Well done! Cheers- Joan
11/19/20: I had the same reaction this time but still did not have the six stars available that it deserves. More cheers- Joan
