A wonderful and very enjoyable reading piece and stroll through the garden. I do that quite often, stroll through my garden. This poet has captured some of the little bit of life that we can see going on enjoying our gardens as well as we do, she has also wonderfully captured the little bit of life that we only can see traces of or of which will allow us to see among our flowers and greens. I love the flow and the fantasy of the speculations that we can only place in our minds eyes of the beauty and magical attributes of a garden. I hope that there will be so many others reading this piece, it is fun, magical and so very enjoyable.

What a lovely, lovely commentary. You are quite sweet. Thank you, Brooke

A wonderful look at the world, literally. We all miss so much by not really looking at what is in front of our faces. It never ceases to amaze me how some people can live in a world and never ever 'see' it.

Maurice, you "got" this - thank you for being so perceptive.

Brooke,
How I love a garden stroll and you have included some of the reasons. Well written, no corrections. Easy flow with nice rhyme and rhythm.
When rose petals fall on the cobblestone,
do gossamer maidens gather there?
Are frolicsome fairies, never quite known,
at play in your garden without a care?
The final stanza has to be my favorite. Will have to go looking for those gossamer maidens and the frolicsome fairies in the spring.

I changed this from a sonnet to its all quatrain form, and your favorite quatrain is the one that was once only a couplet, so I am very pleased that my editing worked!!! Thank you for sharing that with me, Brooke

This is absolutely delightful! I love the surprise - at least for me - introduction of fairies in the garden.
As usual, there is no spag. Just great writing and wonderful word pictures.
As I plant my garden next spring, I'll look closely for those gossamer maidens. Thank you for sharing this. I love it!

I love to write fairy poems. You would be less surprised if you'd read all the others. :-D I'm so glad you enjoyed this and good luck fairy hunting come spring. :-) Thank you, Brooke

Peaceful 'painted' pageant by a prolific, perceptive poetess parcelled perfectly.
I love the whole post and the imagination of the writer.

love your alliterative and clever response :-)

Why does this post say 'heavily edited'? You are welcome.
-
it was a modern sonnet weeks ago and in a contest , and I disabled it and asked Tom about posting it again without being part of the contest, and he told me I could only repost if it was heavily edited, so I turned it into all quatrains by adding lines and modifying others. This way I've followed all the rules! :-)

Not bad at all. Very good images of wonderful things. The flow is all right the theme is right on. I did enjoy the image of the poem as well.

when you say the flow is all right, is that the part you have reservations about that led to the 4?? Thanks for clarifying.

If frolicsome fairies inhabited my garden, the cats would be forever bringing them in, and proudly sitting on them under the table. Nothing on the planet is faster then my Gyllie!
Apologies, I'm going off track a little here. You've crafted a sweet garden ensemble here, and it conjured up very vivid visual in my mind, so your words must have been well chosen!

I had one cat that had been feral before we took him in - he brought me many presents - never a fairy but baby birds and bunnies and many other things! LOL Thanks, Brooke

Morning, Brooke. Fascinating artwork, makes me dizzy, LOL.
I didn't realise fairies were this tiny. The ones I see (after a few beers) are huge, and they've got horns, hairy legs and a long pointed goatey-like tale. What am I goin on about? I'm sober, too - where's me meds? LOL!
Oh, sorry, your lovely poem is so sweet and dreamy. Had me gettin out me microscope to check thst snail's shell.
Nice rhyme and alliteration, too. Great read. Ray xx

Ray, the fairies you're seeing are not the kind that please my little girl!!! And this poem is dedicated to my youngest fan on site, the little 12 year old sister of a writer from Sri Lanka, and I'm not going to write about hairy, horny fairies for her either!!! You're a scream. LOL Brooke
-
Whooooops! LOL xx
-
is that not cool though, to know i have a little one all the way across the world who bookmarks my poems and sends me fan mail :-D
-
Oy! Brooke, leave my 'little one' outa this. It aint my fault it shrivells up to 9 inches in the winter. LOL xx
-
shivels to 9 inches, huh? good thing you're all the way across the ocean or you could be in serious trouble of getting stalked with lines like those!! LOL
-
I've never been known to exaggerate, but in the Summer it reaches across the 'Ocean', and thet's before I get excited! Blimey, who needs reality, this is fun. Anyway, I'm off for my afternoon siesta to dream up more bullshit. LOL, Luv, Ray xx
-
I dare you to write a fantasy sonnet! LOL Hope you're enjoying your beauty rest.
with admiration, Brooke ;-)

Another beautiful nature piece. My favorite kind of poetics.
Strophe 4 - What do you think about -
'When rosepetals fall on cobblestones'?

This is another masterpiece as usual. No spag and is alive with all the glories of nature. We've been having so much rain that my garden is heavily overgrown and no room to walk in it at all. But the presence of wild life has increased tremendously. We have two generations of owls nesting in a stand of aurucarias. Daily, around 5.30 we are treated to a cacophony of mixed bird chirping from all around the owls. They want them out of there.
