Can't say how beautiful this is, and the explanation is powerful. How wonderful love is and how often we miss it because we just don't understand what's going on. Sadly our society is run on financial strategies and we have to 'live' so this is a constant dilema for many folk. A Solomon says, "money is the answer to everything" but the answer to love is here in hearts touching through a dilema.
I pray that your gifts will bring double their reward this year.

I loved it. I think all of us are thinking about the holidays and wondering how we'll be able to buy gifts. But I loved what you said at the end of the poem. I think if we all reach deep within ourselves we shall find something to give.

Excellent poem with an even more important message. We don't need to be rich to have the wonders of the world. By using our creativity we end up giving and receiving something more priceless than the Hope diamond! Thanks for sharing!!

No need for the dictionary this time. O'Henry is one favorite authors. Your poem is very well written with a strong cadence, leading to an easy read. It has good imagery and descriptive scheme.

Lots of people don't know him, it seems, which astounds me - glad you're a fan and liked the poem :-)

You're welcome, adewpearl. Most are turned of because he was in prison. Charlie

Brooke,

Another beautifully penned A-Z piece. You have such a magic with words, the ability to paint a picture in the mind of the reader using such a restricted format is a talent in itself. (Restricted in the manner of the alphabet). Love the choice of the "The Gift of the Magi". K

Wow, how clever. I love how you've put each letter of the alphabet into this. It's very well written too. And the picture is perfect for the poem!

Only you could write a poem such as this and I am becoming envious and starting to feel cheated on such wonderful literature that your life appears to be filled with. You're a lady of many levels and insights. I appreciate you. Tony

Tony, there's a library filled with wonderful books somewhere near your home! No need to feel envy :-) Thanks, Brooke

You have written another nice alphabet poem, Brooke. This one is unusual in that it refers to a book. I have always liked that O Henry story also. He would have been amazed at your version. (Note that in your author notes, you spelled his name Oh Henry.)

I spelled his name wrong and nobody has pointed it out until you? Oh, shame on me and shame on all of them!! I am off to edit right away. LOL Thank you, Brooke :-)

Wonderful sentiment. Thank you for that. This is a great poem. Good job, once again, in using the alphabet. Christmas time, once again? Hmmmmm.

Hi Pearly One,
Your poem is clever and has a timely message too. Perhaps 'time' is the most precious and creative gift one can give to another, in this 'it's all about me' era.
Meaningful poem. Thanks.

My sister always tells her kids that when they ask her for lists of stuff she wants - she wants them to come over and talk, to fix the clock, to invite her to dinner. Thanks so much, Brooke
