When do you have time to write all this?! You are way too prolific!! Ok, so I don't like this as much as a couple others I have read tonight but this is still very well written... it has a unique quality, a different character to it... it is an abecedarian delight!! lol well done!

Jarls, we all have our favorites - my daughter always lets me know which she likes best and not so much - that way I know when it's not empty praise when praise comes :-D Thank you, Brooke

This is a wonderful A-Z concerning one of the many wonders of the sea-world.
They could teach human fathers a thingm or two about caring for their offspring.
Once again, a great poem with plenty of information for all that may be interested (like me).
You are obviously a lady who loves wildlife.
Best wishes
Lawrie

I adore wildlife - my idea of the ideal vacation is a whale cruise or a safari, with second best a day at the zoo. Nothing beats sitting in front of the penguins at the Central Park Zoo and just delighting in them for a half hour. Thanks for your lovely review, Brooke ;-)

Wow!i don't think I've ever seen Ichthyological in a poem before. You really got the hang of these a to z excursions into and out of (in my case) the mind. I applaud you.

adewpearl,

This is a nice poem although I spotted some errors. Let me know when the corrections have been made and I will give you your stars back.

Faithfully father

The grammar is wrong here. It should say

Faithful father

Marriageable material?

Marriage is our choice. They have no such thing.

Male magnificent!

I feel that this should be

Magnificent male

Love you,

Oatmeal

Marriageable material is a case of being fanciful - this is not meant to be a National Geographic lesson on seahorses.
How is your difference of opinion that you would prefer it to say magnificent male while I prefer to say male magnificent a matter of error on my part? It is a matter of taste. It is said this way purposely for effect.
Faithfully father is using father as a verb, not as a noun
these seahorses faithfully father their offspring
that this one is unclear is my responsibility as I should have done something to make it clearer
    Thank you for reviewing, Brooke

A male seahorse is indeed a "Male magnificent!"

When I taught second grade we did an under the sea unit, so that is when I learned all about the " jet-propelled journeyer."

Another very clever A to Z animal write from our own Adewpearl.

Hey Pearl,
This is great and I love these little fellas (miniture Arnie Swarzaneggers heh heh)

They have started turning up off the coast of Northern Europe - one of the benefits of global warming I guess.

Terrific poem! and a great tribute to these little creatures.

Kind Regrds
Keith

Hey, if global warming is eventually going to wipe us out, it might as well offer us a glimpse at some seahorses first :-)
Thanks so much for your kind review, Brooke :-)

This is a very good job. I'm glad you included the explanation at the beginning. You have chosen an excellent combination of words to describe the male seahorse.

LOL What a guy! I love your poem. Wouldn't it be nice if the guys had to carry the babies? Actually, naw, on second thoughts, I loved being pregnant. :-)
Your poem is clever with no errors. Great work!

I am going to go ahead and assume you weren't induced when the baby was almost a month late. LOL Thanks, Brooke :-)

I said I loved being pregnant. I didn't say I enjoyed labor! LOL

Actually, I was induced three times out of the five and it sucks.

    A month late? Ouch.

My babies were big enough with the last two topping the scales at nine-and-a-half pounds at term.

Miranda was almost 10 and a half - she was only two weeks late. Eric, almost a month late, was almost 10. He was born after the hottest summer in New Haven in years and years - I was huge and hot, and I wanted him to be born, and he refused! LOL When Miranda was also very late but came after they scraped my uterus, something that hadn't worked with Eric, my doctor told me I must just have one helluva comfy womb :-)

Thanks for the most magnificent lesson in poem about the seahorse. I guess I never took the time to ponder on this creature, guess I should have paid more attention. Well done, Judy
