Hi Mike,
Loved the story/poem. Such a high-spirited little one can sure keep you on your toes. Reminds me of my daughter at that age. She told me just today that she now knows how I used to feel in trying to keep up with her. She now has a daughter of her own. Thank you for sharing this well written vivid piece. I love this review. In a sense, this is representive of my mother, it was a very short time to her demise that she divuldged to me the method of her madness in raising me and a balance to my father. Whether video games or strict disapline, we tend to want to protect children. I love seeing them explore and learn lessons themselves, through exploration, yet in being there to blunt the pain and provide guidence.

Enjoyed this Mike. It's full of spirit indeed and really cute. Whenever I watch western movies, I always marvel at how at ease those women are in their long heavy full skirts.

Very often the petticoats had wire hoops in them, plus to be bound up with a bodice. I admit that it adds an element of attractiveness, but I am a plain Jane type of person. I would view it as a blessing just to have a stand up lady who is a true friend.
I love little girls that are like this, it is my experience that when they do settle, they have a bit more realism then most. With raising my step-children I always encouraged exploration, yet I was there when it went to far. In our nation, I believe that many parents lost the sense of raising them in such a fashion that they learn life's lessons in a little way and get an all 'round knowledge so that they will eventually raise themselves. More work up front but rewarding in the end.

Dressed to the nines, turned loose until it's time to go, no where to be had and then the reality bares itself as a munchkin muddied and having a wonderful time with ribbons turned over to the pigs.
This reads and flows so well. The punctuation is perfect and adds to the 'weariness' some parents feel with a child who loves life and everything it has to give.
One day, maybe. . .just maybe they'll see the little lady- -and probably chuckling as she is given over possibly to an unsuspecting young man.
Thank you. I see noting to criticize in this well-written piece.

I really enjoyed reading this piece.
I thought is was remarkable how it flowed together so well, with both dialogue and thought. The exclamation marks added emphasis to an already strong work.
The imagery you have created is superb.

Nicely done. Thanks for the notes on the layout and the photo - very interesting. The only nit I have is in the last stanza last line. Reaches a bit far for the rhyme.

Honestly Mike, how cute is this? She does look like a busy little sprite. I had all boys and they certainly kept me busy!! Lovely photo and sweet, fun words to go with it. "marry a nice gentleman's hand" doesn't really make sense Mike. I think I'd change "marry" to "take" which implies marriage to the entire person, not just his hand! lol well done
