I like this haiku because it expressed the solitiude of the winter, but at the same time the hope of waiting for the coming spring. The solitary bench is a powerful image.

Hello Mike! I'm a novice haiku writer and I feel I don't know the technique enough to comment on haiku to be of any help, but I do like your poem. The picture and the words do convey the solitude of sabi, and you leave us with hope that it won't last forever.

Personally, the more inclimate the winter the better. I guess because of much of winter is gray. It should bring people closer together, but most people jsut seem to huddle in their own worlds. Thank you very much for the compliments and this review. Mike K2
