this one was really well written and it really does sum up how a hippo lives and how we sometimes which we could live so that we don't have to face the hard things and sad things that go on around us.
enjoyed it and look forward to doing some more reading of your work.

these poems take a very long time to put together, and while I know the meanings of the words already, yes, I go through the dictionary as I need to find a word for something that starts with the correct letter because I don't just use 26 words that have something to do with the animal - I decide on some trait of the animal to focus on - with the alligator, it was snapping for his lunch - for the frog it is singing a sad song - for the hippo it is being lazy. I'm so glad you recognize these things don't just flow out in one big happy result!!! Thank you.

This was a fun read with a great picture to match it. I didn't think Hippo's were vegetarians though? I thought they killed hundreds of humans every year? do they just kill for fun.

I think they have bad tempers if provoked or feel endangered, but they eat veggies :-) When they go after people, I don't think it's for dinner. Thank you for a great review!
