I just finished commenting on your other alphabet poem, and then I came upon this one. It's another nice one. You are very good at this sort of thing. Well done.

I marvel at the way you have taken the letters of the alphabet and found words to fit scantly with nature's grasshopper. Well done.

This feels like reading a collection of haiku (I normally hate haiku, but I let you off as: 1) you're very talented, 2) this has a far more interesting trick up its sleeve, and 3) it's not actually haiku!).
The alphabet progression is a fascinating idea, and certainly something a bit different. Plus, you've really stretched that extended vocabulary of yours!
Nice work :-)

haiku is not something up my alley - I enjoy the really good ones when I read, but most just blend together in my mind - when reviewing, my haiku comments always sound exactly the same :-)
glad you like these poems more LOL Thanks for a most interesting review!

No sixes left, so the thought will have to do my friend! this is awesome work, and so clever how it works its way through the alphabet while still accurately describing the grasshopper. You didn't miss a letter! That's a grand achievement indeed. Loved this to bits and wish you best of luck in the contest! xoxoxoxox

I have to confess. I missed the x without ever even noticing when an early reviewer pointed it out - sent me scurrying before anyone else noticed! LOL Thanks ever so much :-)

Okay this one about a grasshopper but still fun to read. I noticed your notes in the alligator poem and realized I didn't read this one. This one also flows perfectly within this structure and I love the creativeness of using words from a-z.

adewpearl, this is a charming ode to the grasshopper. When I was a kid, I loved sitting on the front porch of our old farm house with my parents and listen to the grasshoppers sing to each other. great job. thanks for the memories.

Insect poem? ha..I missed that prompt. Must have filled up quickly...
Well adewpearl... your love for grasshoppers is amazing. What a gorgeous graphic you chose for your A-Z poetic perusal of this most fascinating insect. Superb alliteration and assonance adorn this detailed picture you paint that brings the reader into the grasshopper world. From "Abuzz" to "zoom" we can clearly see and hear a panoply of grasshopper activity. You point out a multitude of positive qualities that exist within the grasshoppper's life and our human perception of it.
hmmm..I wonder what grasshoppers think of us?
This is the first insect poem I've read, but I'm sure it'll be a strong contest contender. I'm always fascinated by what words writers come up with for the hard letters..u,v,w,x,y,z ... ubiquitous, Vacillating wings, walking xylophones, yammering - zoom! Outstanding job with your word selections.
All in all, you did an exceptional job. Deserves a 'sixer'..
Good luck in this contest!
