Brooke this is another beautiful write and I love the lighthearted feel of it. You are so right my friend.

I forget you are from PA. My stepdad is from Pittsurgh and my step sibs hail from Somerset. I've been to Valley Forge and went to a hillclimb (motorcycles) in York back in the late seventies. I've travelled many times to Philly for one reason or another and as recently as last year I travelled to Pacinogal's house for a week and drove through a piece of your commonwealth (KY is one, too, as is Massachusettes, though I'm sure you know all this) on the way to Holden. It was a long way! The people were great. :)

What a beautifully crafted ode it is friend and I seen you stamped your now famous poetic mark on it with your wonderful word selection. We are just heading into spring here in New Zealand but I can relate 100% to what you are saying having 4 and 6 year old girls.

Oh, your girls are just the perfect age for a day in the park - and New Zealand is sooooooo beautiful, at least from what I've seen on film :-) Thank you for this most warm and generous review!

A beautiful poem. The best I've read tonight. You really evoked memories of a time where life was truly simple and wondrous to our minds. Very nostalgic, and a perfect verse for a perfect day.

A very joyful read, friend. The second stanza could use some minor revision at: "swing sets, a seesaw, a merry-go-round.' Granted there are more than a seesaw and a merry go round at the park.
Also @:
"on ponderous problems too deep to ponder,"
Try substituting the 'ponderous' with say 'myriad'??

Thanks for sharing. Your works,I deem, will take you some place very far.

I'm not sure what you mean by the swing set stanza comment - granted there are more than a seesaw... what is it that is off? thanks for reviewing
reply by LegendD on 19-Sep-2008
Oh the "swingsets" followed by 'a see-saw,' and 'a merry-go-round'. I was thinking usually there are more seesaws at the park, and possibly more than one merry-go-round. The piece is good, but if one or two components fall short it might weaken it a bit.

This poem is well written with rhyme and meter and has a great sense of frolick both in its tonal quality and delivery. It invoked extremely pleasant, if not on the verge of giddy, childhood memories for me. Great job.

Ah. *sigh* We had a day like that today and it made me so happy. I hope we have a day like your poem tomorrow as well. I don't know if it was intentional, I am sure it was by this point, but I really like the way you put grandglorious as one word. I may just start saying that one maself!! It was a very fun poem to read!!

TerraDawn - I don't want to sound too forward and personal, but I LOVE YOU!!!!! Most people say nothing about grandglorious, and the several who have, have all mentioned it to point out kindly to me that the words should be separated, or hyphenated LOL One told me she had looked it up in the dictionary before pointing out to me it really isn't a word. And then came you, the one I now love at first sight, or not sight. LOL You've made my day. Thank you for liking the rest of the poem, too ;-)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! ok....this made my morning. You make me laugh. I, personally, thought it added a very fun touch!!! They just don't know a great new word when they read one.

*Looks outside* I think today will be a grandglorious day!!! (I get to go wine tasting with some friends.....I it really will be!!)

A wondorous day deserves a perfict score. Great form, great rythm, and a wondorous content. (Have you ever noticed that the better the poem is, the harder it is to satisfy the Review Nazi's)

Oh, yeah - I have come up with a couple of ways to draw the review out, based on what I've seen others do. You should have told me how nice my illustration is and how well it goes with the theme of the poem! Some people even compliment the choice of font color and background. That alone can get you two lines !! Thanks for a long enough review! Oh, and for all those stars :-)
