Scuttlebutt!! What more can I say? I love your use of words and rhyming. Another hit! And what an original topic! Your stories through poetry are very unique. I love that they are not the standard love or god poems.

Others, too, have commented that they delight in the fact that my poems are outside the mold.
Some tell me they run to read them the second they are posted for just that reason. Frankly, when I hit the review button, some days I just skip by some titles when I see they are going to be too much of one thing. I'm also glad you like the funny words :-) I like you. Thank you, again, kindest of reviewers :-)

This is very good and funny. You did very well using these odd words. To be truthfull, I could not do it. Great job and great read.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Hahahahahahaha! Hahahahahaha some more and some more. Whoa! I read this imagining the writer's voice reading. Oh I'll love to hear this read on the radio. It will make for so much laughter. Also, imagine this being the piece the alarm spews instead of that annoying repetitive beep beep beep beep.
I love to wake up laughing my pajamas off!
Adewpearl, I am now officially a fan of yours!!
Permission to print this pretty please??

I would very much love to use the audio component of this site - because I agree, this is the sort of poetry that is enhanced by reading aloud, especially by the person who wrote it who knows just what the inflection and cadence should be! Thank you yet again! Peace, Brooke

That is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed reading Lewis Carroll when I was growing up and this poem reminding me of his writings. Thanks for sharing. Charlie.

This poem trots along from the start. A very clever use of words;I loved it, got a kick out of the vocabulary. I was very impressed with your galloping Gabfest. We all need to laugh or smile and you have made me do both.

Yes, all those old fashioned words bring a smile don't they and they make for some very fun poems. You have a way of making a rhyme out of some very obscure words. Excellent.

I share the love of old wierd words and humor... and appreciate your ability to rhyme well and tell a story. My feeling is that you could make this WONDERFUL with a bit of RHYTHM. Why does that seem to behoove you?

Thanks for sharing,
Donna

PS -- This rating will be thrown out... and you've got a solid sixer on this. You have AMAZING TALENT!!! I'm giving the lower rating so you will consider my point.

I wish I knew how to use that audio option that they have on this site. I know the poem does not have a steady meter, but I spend hours reworking poems so that when I recite them aloud, they have a cadence. Some people evidently read the poem with the same accents or whatever as I do, and they tell me it has wonderful rhythm. You are hardly the only person, however, to say she wished it had better rhythm. If you could hear it the way I recite it, you would hear the rhythm, which I really really do work so hard to achieve without formal metering. Believe me, I am not not considering your point. I love poetry that has a great rhythm and would not post anything until I truly believed that it did. :-) I appreciate your very thoughtful point and am most glad you share my love of old weird words because they are my dear old friends. Thank you so much for this thoughtful review. :-)

You can call it claptrap, piffle or bunkum,
burble or balderdash,
but the ruckus they raised caused a hullabaloo
that will never again be matched.

Damn if I don't regret using my last sixth star. This is just superb. WTG

You have a gift for the wonderful words that make this poem very appealing. I loved the big words, so descriptive, so fun to let roll across your tongue.
Very well done.
