This is wonderful. You are so good at poetry. Have you ever written stories? I would think you would excell at that too.

I write essays also, but I have two problems with stories - I don't come up with plot ideas, pretty essential, and I suck at dialogue since all my characters sound like English teachers. LOL On the other hand, I'm great at literary criticism, one of my specialties in grad school - I can tell when stories are great or suck and what their strengths and weaknesses are, but I think my own would be awful LOL Thanks for your kind review, Brooke

This is a nice poem about tranquility and serenity.
I like the repetition of some lines in the poem. IT HAS THE EFFECT OF MAKING IT A PLEASURE TO READ, ESPECIALLY ALOUD. KUDOS

Oh how neat! Love the pattern and the completion of the circle at the end. So satisfying and so thought provoking. As one who has just joined - thank you for sharing again.

Beautiful and profound...your poem speaks of an "ownership" of the sky that I guess we all feel when we're alone on a clear night.
Ocean and sky...poets can never run out of material

A pleasant reflection on the artwork. The repetition of certain phrases seemed to help build the mood of silence and deep thought.
While this may not be the type of poetry I usually read, I am a fan of Rosetti, Frost, Tennyson and Hunt-Jackson, this does make one want to read it again to see what may have been missed.

TFFAE. Now for the content. You continue to amaze with the breadth of your imagination. I hope I can draw a metaphor that those "Limitless stars" can refer to your "new friends" and pray that I fit both groups. (LOL on the first).

I am so glad that you chose to repost this poem! It is wonderful. I just joined about two months ago, so I have not seen it. This poem makes me think about my own childhood. When I was about 13 my family moved to the country, far enough from the light pollution of the city to really watch the stars at night. My dad would help me find the big dipper and little dipper, and over time, I learned about more of the constellations. Scorpio was always my favorite, perhaps because we had scorpions at the new home. This poem brings home all of this to me. Stylistically, I really love the way you repeated the line from the stanza before. What a cool idea!

I grew up in the suburbs where the stars were glorious every clear night - we sat in our front yard and looked at the stars together every spring, summer and fall night it was not raining or overcast - I love the constellations :-) Thank you, Brooke the repetition is in the pantoum style

You created a beautiful place with your words. How very soothing and tranquil; perfect for a Sunday afternoon. The picture and the lovely blue gave me a very satisfied feeling. "sparkling gems of clestial tranquility" is an amazing visual.

This is a beautiful poem, brooke. I have often times released my private thoughts into a star. There, I know it will remain safe and secret. Thank you for taking me back to a time when I star-gazed a lot. Stars are wonderful friends, they hold a secret forever!
