Hello Janilou ,
good question how does God ever put up with the way humans act.
What an very interesting story ( of how you compared humans to goats (well that is the impression I got --right or wrong--when I read you great story.)

Love the way you showed different personalities through goats.

"Everything I ever needed to know about life, I learned from a bunch of goats."

Might not fit all that well on a cover . . .

Good stuff, Jani!

Hi Janilou,

Ahhhhh - another goat story - well done, girls! :)))

Yes, it's really amazing, isn't it - the way phenomenology colors experience?

You might enjoy a read of Dr. Bruce Parry's work, in which he delineates the physiological developmental differences in the brains (of humans) who experience trauma or abuse at early ages. Yes, the brains of such individuals are actually physically different: programmed to look for the negative.

Thanks for sharing - keep up the goat (and horse) stories. Any geese on the farm? Guessing some of the girls there would like to try their typing skills. (G)

I tried to look that up and it wouldn't work. Darn it! But I really appreciate your comments and the stars! I have to fight the goats for turns on the computer! LOL

Jan,

This is an excellent short post, and without any nits that I could find. So Hannah is always first in line to get milked, and Jumper always holds back to last. This is how critters, including us two-legged ones, vary. So often, people create their own messes and then wail about them.

Yep, until the other night, when Jumper ran in with the first group. How I had to laugh. I think she snuck in and read the story! Thank you so much for the terrific review! :-)

I often wonder if God doesn't shake His head as He looks down at us and say, "I've provided everything they need to be happy, and yet, they hang back, waiting, complaining, begrudging and enduring what should be a wonderful experience - life.

this is a great example of the glass being half-full or half-empty scenario. I love that you allow the goats to speak, as it really lets us visualize how diametrically opposed the two views are.
well done

You know me, Jan. I love the Rainbow Gate Farm stories. They brighten my day and make me smile. Plus, it makes me realize I could have it worse. HA HA! Tell the girls I love 'em and the billies--heck, never mind--they have other things on their minds.

Hugs,
Renie

LOL! I loved Hannah's comment about the billies smelling so good. But then, to a doe, they would!

Good point you make here, Jani, and I enjoyed your method of making it. Sure, we don't all have the same chances or burdens, but our attitude makes a bigger difference than we think, and cultivating optimism (not to mention gratitude) can be done.

Few little nits for you to tidy up:

Living with over three-hundred dairy goats - delete hyphen

we will hear her point-of-view. - delete hyphens

a wonderful experience - life. - close quotation mark (oh, and check that all your quotation marks are single or double, I think you've used both).

Hugs!

LOL Yes, to the does, it is perfume of the highest value. So glad you enjoyed this one! Thanks for the review. Over here, I've been told to add those hyphens. Now I am confused. Can you enlighten me?

Hmm, the hyphen thing may be a usage difference! But here, it'd be like "a six-year-old child" vs "the child was six years old", or something. I guess it's the same - judgement call - on the "point of view" one, too. It might be something to refer to style manuals for, in this instance!

    Eau de Billy, heheheh...

Jani,

This is definitely well written! I was excited to see it in my PM box... Send me a PM when you have a chance to explain why they stink so much, lol! I've got to hear this....

And did you know Wal-Mart sells GOAT milk!? lol... I was trying to find on the carton if it said what farm it came from... but I couldn't find anything

Oh! Hi Hannah, Jumper!
