Wow, Kit, what an amazing poem! The ending was surprising; totally unexepected. I just love the approaches you used to tell a story in a poem. Well done, indeed.

Thank you, Poetic Friend. The inspiration and credit belong to Hank Trice and John Holland, the 'tops' I have known best. They were honorable men who saved many lives just doing their jobs. Kit

I met a Korean war vet today who suffers greatly from his war injuries, both physical and mental. This poem really made me think of what this man has encountered in his life. Well done. God bless our troops.

Hi Kit,
This is so touching and I am glad the poem changed direction towards God. Very creative to make the soldiers whole again. Your descriptive words have given a vivid picture of what happens to soldiers at war.Heartbreaking.
Great writing, I enjoyed reading it very much.
Thanks for sharing.
Love

Powerful sentiments here. I especially like meeting up again with the unit.
My grandfather fought in the war, but came home to us so I've not know anyone who's been killed in war, but I can imagine what those brave men and woman who have lost their lives went through fighting for our freedoms.
Nicely done.

Thank you. Times have changed since I was young - we can be opposed to war and still support the warriors 110 percent. Kit
