This piece should capture many a heart and soul on this site, I would imagine. I was drawn in by the way you set this up. It was so unique, full of information, and showed both sides quite vividly and correctly. This is a keeper and a prize winner in my mind, and deserves the six I am out of. Dang it!!! Cheers, Don

I have never come across this type of poem before and I was utterly transfixed.
Two sets of different couples giving their own views of their country/adopted country.
You are indeed a wonderful poet with wondrous imagination.

A very well documented American travesty of immense proportions. Throughout the history of white America, there have been many, many embarrassments. This was monumental as were our treatment of Black Americans and Native Americans. The differing viewpoints between the two young men and how they met their fates was so well done and thought provoking. excellent

I don't view this as a condemnation of American policy; rather, a statement on the vicissitudes inevitable when war prevails.
The events portrayed in each man's life are tragic; those events also attributable to war. Our young people face decisions in the Middle East that no person of conscience should be required to deliberate: the life, death, or incarceration of individuals loved by God, family, friends, nations, et al.
I feel in this work with an impression of sadness . . . for our cruelty to each other, and for wasted opportunities to love.
