How hard it would be to live and to cope
in a life confined to the probable. -- AMEN!

I believe in fairies, too. I like to believe that I'm not alone in the woods, that little nature sprites and folk are cheering me on down the trail as I renew my spirit and drink in the grounding of fresh air. My girls stop whenever they see a big mushroom cap in the grass and check for fairy houses. I love it! : )

My 26 year old daughter owns hundreds of fairies, even has three tattoos. I'm so glad to know you and your daughters are our kindred spirits :-) thank you for this most thoughtful review!

Congratulations to you on your being selected as a winner...I am sure that one with your attitude does not need Fanstorians to tell you that. I liked your poem. I have always believed in how I think it should be, without regards to how it may actually be...and tomorrow, if I change my mind, improve upon it...good...because tomorrow, I may go back to yesterday. Faith as equated with belief, by definition, can not have explanation. Now, back to the backyard barbecue where you have written the great recipes for the day....

thank you so very much - this poem means a great deal to me - my daughter is a huge collector of fairies, even has fairy tattoos. She is an atheist like her brother and dad, but she is the most loving, kind, compassionate, ethical person in the world. Fairies are her faith (not that she actually sees them flying around or anything) And she is the light of my life. :-)

I love this poem about fairies. It explains so well why believing doesn't need any explaining! It is short and sweet yet says so much in just a few words. Fantastic!

I was inspired to write this and other fairy poems by a young woman who is the ultimate believer in fairies. This is why I entered it in the poems about faith contest. I am so glad you got something meaningful out of this. :-)

You nailed faith! Isn't it great to be able to believe in something and not have to know why? I read your bio and agree with your love of format and structured poems. I write free verse once in awhile. But I liked the rhythm and cadence as I read this piece aloud. I have a tendency toward couplets and Quatrains. Great Read. Something to start your morning with as you begin a new day. Write On! joan marie

Well hello there Thales biggest fan, This was class, as you may well know i am not a believer in God. I am however a beliver that humanity should relese the shackles and try and reach as many possiblities as possible. I am a believer in the tooth fairy as well, you may find that odd as i have no faith in God, whoever for me this is perfectly logical. I think this is the kind of poem Thales would be proud to have written. Look forward to your reviews tomorrow.

You are too kind. Thank you. I do believe in God, but my children don't, and we love to debate philosophy, so that's just fine that we disagree. :-) To say Thales would have been proud to write this is as high a compliment as you can pay. I am in your debt. Peace, Brooke

I though Atheism is a European disease, and everyone in the us believed in God. By the way get a copy of all the harry potter books they will change your life, they are far from kids books. One character in particular will divide you will the end

I have enough nieces who have read these books - I will borrow them since you recommend them. My now-deceased ex-husband was an atheist, and while my children have taken a lot more from me than from him, the atheism stuck on them. We are all people who believe in ethical behavior, kindness to others, community service, so it really doesn't bother me a whit if they believe in God or not. They conduct their lives the way I believe God wants us to, and that is what counts. They think I'm a bit kooky for believing, but my beliefs are not of the fundamentalist sort, so we don't really disagree all that much - I don't think some old guy created the world in six days or anything like that. LOL I think both my kids, ages 26 and 29 would get along with you extremely well.

Well as long as they arnt Arsenal fans im sure they would. If you dont understand this, Arsenal are my teams biggest rivals. I am a huge Soccer fan or as we call it football. That is my one big love, for sport contains moments that even the great books cannot. I am 21 by the way.

I don't think my kids much care what soccer team wins - they are both huge Philadelphia Eagles football fans as am I. They both now live in other states, but we call each other up to celebrate victories like the one this weekend. We will all root for whatever Soccer team you recommend! ;-)

Their name is actually Tottenham Hotspur?? That is such a quaint and poetic name! Sounds like it belongs in a British novel. :-)
reply by Frankwhite on 09-Sep-2008
Yeh that is actully there name, its comes from a British soldier that was mentioned in a shakesphere play, called Harry Hotspur. We used to be one of the best club in the 1960s but have rececntly well since i was born been a shell of our former selfs. We are the dreamers club, we try to play the game with passion and flair and live our lifes by the quote by our greatest ever captian

â??Football is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the lot, not waiting for them to die of boredomâ??

I like magic also. It would be a very dull world to live in if
people believe in other wordly things. Some time I think there are gremlins living in my house. Items are found in different places than I put them. Smile.

Awesome - I love it. I think it's sad when people lose the innocent faith they have as children; I especially agree with the first two lines of the last stanza. Great job, and I wouldn't change a thing!
