this is definitely a good book review. it made me want to run out and buy the book. LOL i only wish i could. easy to read and follow. no spaggies do i see. imagery is excellent. made me smile. i have wanted to read this book before just out of curiousity but thought he wouldn't give away all trade secrets. now i may have to just so i can see what is done.

I am a very avid fan of Stephen King's. (I am currently reading 'Cell'.) I learned almost as much from 'On Writing' than four years of creative writing classes at college!!!

Excellent job you've done here! It's not easy to write book reports that are concise, smooth flowing, and interesting, which is exactly what you have accomplished. I've read this book and found it to be just as you've described. Good luck in the contest!!

I am, admittedly, no Stephan King fan. I'm sure much of his insight is vey useful. However, many beginning writers are under the assumption anyone can submit their work to publishers, when, in fact, few publishers will accept submissions unless represented by an agent. The agents are used as a filter to screen out the multitude of submissions deemed not suitable for print. There's simply too much time and money involved for the publishing companies to spend time reviewing the mountains of submissions.
I'm sure Mr. King, with his track record, can submit directly to any publisher he might choose, but not so for the rest of us.
One suggestion:
"On Writing", "Carrie".
[Periods and commas go inside quotation marks.]

I was so excited to see that you had chosen one of my absolute favorite books, On Writing, for your book report. I have read and re-read this book so many times. I love how King very bluntly tells you, if you want to be a writer just get off of your a** and write!
The word "push" has also taken on new meaning for me as I cannot hear it without picturing him as a young boy wiping his butt with ... what was it? ... poison ivy? LOL
