his looked sort of like a philosophical aphorism, so I guess a story could be derived from that idea. It maybe could've been more specific, so that it is narrowed down into a more specifc idea. E.g., you could name names, e.g. Mary's kindness trumped Fred's inflated ego.
Other than that, I think it pretty much does what it's supposed to do.

Thanks. Yes, individuation would make it more of a story and less of an aphorism. But it was something that needed to be said and I had only six words---you did a much better job than I could ever do--though I would probably have made it universal, such as "My kindness trumped others' inflated egos", but that sounds egotistical! Thanks for a great review.

I am looking at all the voting booth entries. Some of your competition completed the presentation with graphics, photos and color boxes. It makes for a nicer presentation. I had trouble finding your poem as it is presented.
Excellent note of wisdom in your poem, however.

Very well said. I can always tell a review by a newbie. They knick stars for no apparent reason and don't like it when others do the same to them. Any more I politely ask for an explanation, then let it go when they don't reply or their reply is unsatisfactory. Good job.

Thanks. Someone has to take a stand against biased, prejudiced reviews. I have learned that most people new to the site, after a few mistakes, learn how to review from those of us who have been doing it for a long time. The others either go away or squelch some really good reviewers on this site. I hope the people who need to read this do. Thanks for a very good review.

I pointed out what I liked, then showed them any mistakes or gave suggestions, then ended with how well they were doing. Still, two people got terribly nasty with me. One person did not use any commas at all in her work and it was really hard trying to figure out what she was saying. I only suggested a few and she got really nasty with me because she was a minister and ministers do not use commas when they preach. The other man had stray quotation marks here and there in his work, never pairs, where there were no quotes. I asked about them and he told me I was just being petty. Thank goodness I haven't run in to any of those folks since I have become better known on the site. Sorry for dumping on you, this just kinda came out. Have a great day. Blessings, Laura

Don't worry about "dumping" on me; this is the kind of commentary people need to see. We are all here to learn. Even those of us who write professionally need to appeal to a wide audience, so we learn from and accept criticism. Defensive responses to helpful criticism are not conductive to the learning process. Thanks for a good review.
