Hi Diane,
So true is your six word story. Those numbers do seem to be exaggerated by society. Enjoyed your short story and your author notes as well. Thank you for sharing. God bless and best wishes!

How true, how true. I am so pleased you added the explanation of sorts. The poem could not have said more were it one hundred words. Good luck in the contest. LadyMary

Hello, Mrs. KT.
Nice truth, your poem. The image of the numbers is good, too.
One puzzle: why did you not box the presentation?
The words sort of just hang there for me. I am a retired graphic artists and from old habit consider the entire presentation.
I am accessing all final poems from the voting booth.
Your words make a very good point about happiness.
Good luck.
Rosy

Thank you for stopping by. To my knowledge, a story cannot be boxed on this site. This offering is considered a story. To use any graphics/artwork on this site for poetry is a choice and an added plus, not a requirement. Many writers choose not to use either. I understand what you mean by "presentation," but the words of a writer are the essence - not the box. Take Care. diane

Kt, This was just lovely and a beautiful message, of course numbers have no value in life, it is what we make of the number...for example 2 cats can easily become 12 if we add one more cat in front of it!! Ah, the number gain!! lol..I loved this, as we only have 2 feet, 2 hands, 1 mouth, 2 eyes, and 2 ears, and only one nose, how can we see and feel, hold, smell, and eat any more than that!! loved this, many hugs, for a beautiful day! much love twomoon

Ah. Truth in poetry. Those who possess a strong love of money would contest your words. This is an excellent and thought-provoking entry. Best of luck. Blessings, Linda

This is a very good six word story you have written. Your author comments were very good also. You told two stories in this great contest entry. Good luck. teri

I agree about using numbers to compare ourselves to others--something that is slly in the first place, but what about quantifying happiness in the sense of "I feel like fifteen million bucks (adjusted for inflation)"?

Wow! If I hadn't read your author notes, I would have thought 'age, weight, income'. LOL This is a great entry! Good job! Megan

Diane,
How very true. Too many people seek to have more and more
and compete with the neighbors for whatever new gadget comes
out. Good entry for this contest. Good luck.

Four fireplaces? Ok I guess if you can have four fireplaces in one house you can afford the amount of wood it would take to keep them going. Maybe she didn't have a furnace. :) Anyway your words were true- I think happiness cannot be found or determined by numbers. What was cool was that the "numbers" could be anything- money- bathrooms- fireplaces- friends... Really good stuff I liked this!
