A lovely story with beautiful descriptive phrases. I loved the turn-a-round which was unexpected. I especially liked how Louise felt her mama's tears from heaven as rain drops, inspired thinking! Thank you for an enoyable read.

A beautiful story- very well written- I really enjoyed the twist at the end when you disclose that it is Margaret who has died and Louise is missing her mama much like you are yourself- hope you enjoyed your birthday- ^V^

This is a very beautiful story of two generations of daughters commemorating the birthday of their mothers after they have passed away.
Margaret wrote a letter to her late mom on the occasion of the latter's birthday, to relief her longing for her. She tossed the letter to the wind after a few drops of her tears stained it. A few drops of rain from the sky fell on Louisi's face like tears as her children called her to come and celebrate her birthday. She looked up to the heavens and blew a kiss into the air, remembering her mother, Margaret. Very touching. Love the story.

I liked what you wrote here but I was lost as to who was who and what the letter was written to. You really have me at a loss here in my understanding of this piece as I just couldn't figure out the charterers
in this piece and their relation of who or what. But I still liked what I read here. Maybe you could enlighten me... John

I'm sorry I confused you, John. Some readers picked it up right away and others have been struggling to understand. There are two characters, Margaret the mother and Louise the daughter.
I start off with Margaret writing to Louise on Louise's birthday saying how much she misses her which leads the reader to believe Louise is dead. But the twist comes in the second part of the story. Louise is alive and her mother's letter (which turned into teardrops on it's way down from heaven) drifts to earth and touches Louise, ( her daughter) who thinks it is raining on her.
I wanted the reader to think Margaret was alive at first, because, to my mind, she is still alive in heaven.
I added a few lines and hope I have made it less confusing.
Clear as mud, right? :-)

Thanks, Gerry. The mother is in heaven, the daughter on earth. I deliberately tried to make the reader think it was the other way around and it seems all I have done is confuse a lot of my readers! LOL
We are fine - minor flooding here compared to what others have suffered.
