Hi Jan,
It sure sounds as though you have had your hands full and I hope this vacation gives you a bit of reprieve. Your story is very well written and flows nicely and with a clear meaning. Thank you for sharing and God bless and best wishes!

First off I just love the painting used to open your story.
The first paragraph told me this was going to be a truthful account, and I quite expected a light hearted story.
However, the following paragraphs took me to a visionary hell. To me these paragraphs were fast paced, and somewhat manic.
I am astonished and find it hard to believe all these things are going on in your life.
Indeed the red headed boy from second grade needs to get you away from your life, and if I were you, I?d keep going. Pollyanne

Unfortunately, POLLYANNE, all those things have been, and to some extent, are going on in my life. I could add a couple of things, too, but they are the highlights. My red-headed boy and I had a great trip during which we both decompressed and just enjoyed life. I took stunning sunrise and sunset pictures over the ocean from the balcony of our stateroom which I hope to be able to share with fanstorians as part of my writings. Above all, God is good all the time no matter what is happening in my life. Thanks for reviewing.

You are very welcome. Pollyanne

Jan: Congrads on becoming a grandparent. I pray that God grants you and your family calmer seas on the cruise and in the coming months and years.
I hope to hear from you soon. Will you favor us with a bit of a travel log? (I am casting about for 2nd honeymoon ideas.)
George
P.S. What misguided motivation led your church to nominate a pedophile for father of the year? I do not understand that one. The guy should be locked up in a deep dark, dank cell for what little of his life remains to him. ( Did the prosecutor elect not to bring charges in light of pedophile's impending demise?)

It was not known the man was a pedophile. It is not public knowledge. His granddaughter notified me when she learned he had been selected and asked me to intercede on the family's behalf. There's never been any charges pressed. I am going to write about my trip for the Travel Contest. The seas were fantastic for the cruise. I took almost 200 pictures. It was great. Thanks for the review. Love, Jan

Jan,
Thanks for letting us in, and for letting us know that you'll be taking a well deserved break. I've found that's the best thing to do when I'm going to be gone for an extended period. I've learned that the hard way, as you know. I've worried my share of the good people on FanStory; I now let you all know when I'm going to be away. This was a good read and you certainly deserve the vacation. Enjoy and we'll be here when you return. Your review box and your inbox will be all clogged up; don't worry about it, though. Just catch up a little at a time. Bye, my friend! Have a safe and happy trip!
Love,
Jenny *smile*

This is an excellent story. I am so sorry for all your misfortune, but as you say, God works in mysterious ways. Have a wonderful time on your cruise to Nova Scotia. It is truly "God's Country". My roots are there.

carolm5415, Peggy's Cove is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I took wonderful pictures while there. Was lucky enough to be awakened early the morning we docked there and got marvelous pictures of the sunrise over the water, then got sunset pictures as we were leaving. Simply magnificent. God's Country, indeed.

Bless you, Rajasir. Thank you for your kind words. The trip was great and I have wonderful pictures to share if I can just figure out how to get them structured for fanstory requirements. Love, Jan

I don't know if you will be checking the internet and fanstory on your cruise, so if not, I hope you had a fabulous time with your red-headed "boy". This vacation was much needed and much deserved by the two of you. It seems like challenges come in clumps. Life seems to be going smoothly and well and then bam, bam, bam, we are hit with disappointment and tragedy from all sides. Without God, we would never make it.
Blessings,
ellen

You're right, EllenV, without God, I am nothing. The red-headed boy and I had a grand time together. It was good for us individually and as a couple. Thanks. love, jan

An absolutelky breath-taking and personal story, Jan, that will stir the coldest and cruelest of hearts.I had been wondering why I hadn't heard from you since I returned a couple weeks ago.I am so sorry for the tragedy that has embraced your life nd those round you.The Lord does work in mysterious ways, doesn't He?
Just wanted to tell you about one little nit for your picture-perfect story:
-Fortunately, this was one battle Satan was not going to win on my watch (you need a period here)
Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the East coast of Canada. It is beautiful there.
Always,
David

you are right, David. The east coast of Canada and the U.S. is stunning -- especially the sunrises and sunsets. I have such beautiful pictures from the balcony of our stateroom and from the main deck of the ship. Can't wait to share them if I can ever figure out how to get the resolution right for fanstory standards. I'll begin reviewing your work again soon. So glad you're back with us. love, jan

My goodness, Jan, it is good to hear from you again. I'm so glad you had such a terrific time on the eastern seaboard of Canada and the US. I'll have to give you my email address so that I can see the terrific pictures.
Hope your second honeymoon was a glorious one.
Thanks again.
Love,
David

Gayle, it was a great trip. We got home Saturday just in time to pick up my pups from the vet. They were so excited to see us. Thanks for your prayers. We are both better, individually and as a couple, after this trip. Love, Jan (By the way, never got the PM you spoke of in one of your reviews)
