You hit the nail right on the head with this one.
Good description. I particularly liked the following line:
Flying high out of control
(after the above ... you know the next line is coming ... )
Darkness is coming
(A vicious cycle)
Great Haiki - it's count is accurate. Good imagery - the
photo "complements" and "compliments" your writing.
I like the half white and half black face ... if only life could be as simple as black and white for those who suffer from this disease. This is a good write about a difficult subject matter.

E,W, I had an old friend from my youth who became manic depressive or had it recognized when he was in this thirties or forties. The 3 lines above described him perfectly. :o)

From what I have read, your senryu accurately describes the feelings of a manic depressive, Monte. The person thinks that he or she can accomplish much while in the high phase, but knows that the low time is coming. The disease must be very hard on that person as well as on the family. Well done.

The minds flight from excitability to severe depression is so hard on the heart and soul and senses of the afflicted. Your poem says this with few words quite well. The picture accompanying the haiku also effectively shows the the light and dark - high and low of bipolar disorder. Excellent. Blessings, Linda

I don't know what a manic depressive is exactly, but I think it must be quite scary! This looks like a scene from an old Batman episode so I am hard pressed to make the relationship with the two. I guess it's because the Riddler was always playing jokes and seemed to have two personalities. Can that be it?
