This is great. It is the epitome of a "he done me wrong song". I haven't heard of the Jamestown Ferry, but it was a nice touch adding it to your poem. I hadn't heard the one from Barbara Mandrell. Best of luck in the contest. Blessings, Linda

I hate to tell you this, Baroness, but it's not the worst country song... the original is much, much worse. Yours has its tongue in its cheek, something country seems sorely lacking, from what I've heard. I'd far sooner listen to yours than B Mandrell's!

I hate to tell you this, Baroness, but it's not the worst country song... the original is much, much worse. Yours has its tongue in its cheek, something country seems sorely lacking, from what I've heard. I'd far sooner listen to yours than B Mandrell's!

You know you could add the music to this by going on line and looking for a midi for the Jamestown Ferry song. Once you have the song playing, right click on it and click "Save Target As". Then a page will come up and you can save it in your documents. From there you go to the Edit page on here and browse for that song. Pull it up and upload it. Good luck in the contest. V.A.

My dad penned the lyrics to a new song, and when he passes, the kids all got it out again. Maybe we should try and get this piece up on the charts. It is a great country western tune. Thanks for your piece. it brought back some memories when my dad was calling square dances and would sing, play guitar, and fiddle a little too, all on the radio.
