This says a lot more in those few words than initially implied.
Yes, we are in trouble with the gas situation but the country is also running weary on many levels due to this horrendous administration and the damage it has caused. Good entry.

Almost out gas...actually, there's still gas but its astronomical cost is changing the lives of all Americans. Love the picture of the old rusted-out gas pump. I remember those pumps and when gas only cost a quarter per gallon. There are solutions for the energy crisis...but nothing that will quickly reverse the current problem...and we are also psychologically out of gas....we are facing huge challenges.

Excellent entry....wake up America..you are out of gas...;)
Good luck in the contest..

At first read, I wondered what could be life changing about running out of gas. Then I thought about it and realized that if this country ran out of gas, it would change everything about the way we live. Great job!

Hello samandlancelot, Yes, if the country was out of gas - it would also be out of oil and with both things, we would be moving back into the dark ages. Factories would close, shopping center, would close, heating our homes would be a problem and every-day electricity would also declines because gas/oil is used to make/generate electric, etc. Yes, I think we would be back in the dark ages.
We would probably have to revert back to coal for a lot of things. Thanks for the thoughtful reveiw. Regards, LateBloomer

Great write LateBloomer. How true that is is scary. I hear the prices will continue to go up for a long while yet. What can you do? Good luck in the contest.

Hello dragonsculls ... "What can you do?" That's it exactly - they know they got us ... gas/oil has become as equally important as water. Thank you for the thoughtful and generous review. Regards, LateBloomer

Not really a story but a very good commentary, a well constructed sentence. It is also so true. Perfect picture to go alongside it as well.
Good luck,

LateBloomer,
That is scary isn't it, the problem we are having in America
with gas and the rising cost. That picture really brings it to view. Good luck on the contest.

Hello heyjude, I wish I could tell a sad story here and make it better, but that's not the case. Regards, LateBloomer

Hi LateBloomer,
Strange contest I must say, never heard of it, but as you mentioned Hemingway, it must be well known this six word story.
YOur entry is so witty and I loved this unique and clever idea.
Good luck in the contest.

Boy, did you say a mouthful in just six little words. America truly is running on fumes. I haven't read any contest contenders that are quite this witty. Best of luck. This is a winner. Blessings, Linda

LateBloomer,

It has been a while since our paths have crossed but I am ready to get back down to business. A couple of agents have turned me down recently but I have not given up the fight.

You did a good job with this one. The artwork goes well with your words. You did what you wanted to do. You gave a story in only six words.

There was no SPAG. No room for improvement.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal
