Oh it speaks much to my soul. I relaxed down through my body as I read of the dove. It is good to be reminded just how much we are loved by our Lord and this prose just verifies what I already know. Wonderful Job and testimony!!!!!

Something happened to the beginning of the story...not sure where the words went! That editor!
This is a powerful nightmare that I am sure many of us (particularly women) can relate to. That feeling of being out of control, in danger, and threatened by an intense burning, is hauntingly real. I understand what you are saying about rape victims not being able to completely erase that incident from memory. It is always there.

I understand where you are coming from in this piece. I have haunting nightmares myself. There are some nights that I leave a lamp so that I don't fear the darkness.
Sometimes, I turned off the lamp brave the darkness.

A wonderful account of the aftermath of troubled times, Jan. As you know, I can relate to the emotional dynamics, if not the content of your experiences. Like you, at times it takes me awhile to "remember to pray", but then it's like getting rapped up the side of the head like in the V-8 juice commercials--Bam! You could have prayed!
