You're right. rNo one but God really knows anyone. Great job in crafting a six-word memoir. Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes,

Excellent entry. You have truly described a loner with terse elegance. It sounds so lonely to say "no one but God knew him." Inspired minimalist. As usual, your work is intelligently thought-provoking. Blessings, Linda

yes, I used to be so verbose I wondered if, under the influence of Japanese culture, I have become too minimalistic. What do you think? Thanks for a good review.

Hi Alvin,
Excellent story. It has great impact. In my opinion this subject is one that has been expressed in so many different ways yet it can't be overworked or overstressed. Thanks for your thought provoking message.

I really appreciate the six stars. I take a concept that has been difficult at least since the time of Descartes and show how so many philosophers (Descartes, Whitehead, etc.) though God was the unifying factor of the embodied soul. Thanks for understanding what I wanted to convey.

It's hard to really know another person
when we don't really know who 'we' are...
In six little words you give us a lot to think on...
and a lot of wisdom as well.
Best of luck in the contest Alvin !

Thanks. I always think of the Biblical quotation I learned as a child--"Man looketh on the outward appearance, but God looketh on the heart"--I Samuel 16:7

Yes, it was quite a contest. A magazine is running the same contest--I can't remember the name of the magazine. Thanks for a good review.

This is an awesome and most powerful statement, Alvin. This is another that rocked the poetic pen. Best of luck. It sounds like a winner to me.

Thanks. Don't take this wrong but you remind so much of the wisdom Bessie, the black woman, who brought me up, taught me. I learned more from her than from anyone else. Thank you so much for sharing that wisdom.

This is so true about everyone. Not just one person. We might think we know a person but do we really know them in the deepest recesses of their being, I don't really think so, but God does. Very nice memoir.

What a beautiful entry, Alvin. No matter the trials or loneliness we feel in our lives, there is always someone who knows us and loves us unconditionally. Thanks, Al.

Hi Alvin,

That was a true statement, wasn't it? God knows us all,
inside and out.

I liked the simplicity of the piece, thank you for sharing.

Best in the contest,
Gayle

Yes, I felt it need a simplicity if it were only six words.
