Nature IS truly destructive and highly unreliable. In the case of tornados, nature seems to have a very contrary evil streak that gives birth to human sadness and despair. Your haiku is well written and very timely. Excellent. bard owl

This was good very short and to the point you do not often see just a few words spoken it does sit with you after you read it

Earthwriter,

This is an excellent haiku, without any faults that I could find. We get tornadoes in Georgia, so we are familiar with what they can do.

Good job Earthwriter. I have winessed this
destruction. Short lived but awesome destruction.
Just like an eartthquake--does not last long, but oh man, gets your attention. Went thru a 7.8 one in Alsaka years ago. I won't forget it.

Well presented, well thought out, well put. The whole thing speaks of sad destruction, leaving no doubt in the reader's mind about what they're reading.

And yet another example of the Verbal Economist at work... xoxoxoxo

This is a beautiful haiku. The subject is unique and original. I like the creative way you write about nature. It's such a nice break from the flowery verse I usually see. This would make a great series-tornado, fire, earthquake, blizzard, thunderstorms, hurricanes, volcanoes, mudslides, etc. You could write an entire book on this-it would be fantastic-I encourage you to do this-go for it!

What I like about this poem is that it has literal and metaphorical meanings. Torrnados are great for that. An excellent post.

Hello Earthwriter well I tell you one thing your haiku can put fright into anyone, because you never know where a Tornado will decide to go..
Very clear and great picture to show the devastation

Hi Earthwriter....I have only experienced one tornado and its destruction. I could hardly believe how it destroys everything in it's path. You have written this haiku very well and in 10 words you have described the horror of tornadoes agenda....very well done....chey
