This was a wonderfully written free verse poem.

Good use of internal rhyme.

Good flow and pace.

No mechanical errors.

From all I've read on the holocaust, how people turned their backs on friends,(they had no choice) and the rest of the horrors, you've given a good glimpse into it with your write....and what a write it is! That's quite the rhyme scheme you pulled off...very brave. I've not seen this form before, only double rhymes per line, so maybe you're the first creator...good write, not easy to read, but one that always always needs to be written again and again....blessings, G

Thank you for your kind comments! I've been told by several poets here that this may be a new form. I"d like to call it Circadian rhythm if it is. I've written another one, a little more complex, with alternating 6 and 4 line stanzas. I will post it when I can.
Thanks again for your review and rating,

This is strong I believe this my second of the day.
It really is tough. War is a really terrible experience and I am short of words here but I must say nice piece.
Much love,
Justmade.

This is a very strong piece. I really liked that pattern, it was different than many of the poems I've read lately. There is so much emotion in you poem, and that is what makes it a piece of art. Great job and keep writing!

I really enjoyed the piece as it sent a eerie chill over me. I makes you stop and think and realize "war" is nothing like what Hollywood shows it. There is a very ugly side to the whole affair of war and most wants to ingore it. A GREAT piece and thanks for letting me read it.

Wow. Thanks for the wonderful review! I can think of only one movie that tries to depict real war,"Hamburger Hill." There are others to be sure, but they are few and far between.
    Thanks again,

I had the chance to be in that movie while station in the Philippines; but their pay was only for a few "pennies" for 2 days; besides my (then) wife wanted to go to Japan for the weekend to shot. Anyway, good piece. And I look forward to others of your writing. Have a good day.

The rhyme, the rythm, the word choices all combine to create a crazyness, a helter skelter attack on the senses that enters the mind through the inner ear. I really liked this piece. Great work. Larry

My gut is still turning every which way. This poem's clear message of deceit, corruption and the human weaknesses that fuel both, also tells me that frustration abounds always when we constantly bang our heads against the brick wall of political ignorance. Which is the biggest war? The obvious ones with bombs and guns or the one going on inside each of us? Carry your own flag with pride Mr Mongold. We just might follow suit...

Thank you for your most thoughtful review. I believe it is the former rather than the latter on which is the bigger war.It is looking pretty dim for us these days, and no one is trying to stop it. May we all have strength.

I think your verses just example the mess we continue to wade in and pile upon ... as for the format? I dunno ... but it worked! Lea Ann

    LeaAnn,
Thanks! It never ends, and never will end in a society based on greed.
So far the format is a mystery. Someone usually tells me these things by now, since I am but a beginning player in this game.
Thank you again for your comments and rating.

Loved the rhyming sequence, especially in that first line, very strong beginning for your poem. Being Jewish I can relate to the content, and lost family members. Not only family members in the holocaust, but my father also lost two brothers who went to war to fight against Hitler.

It was one of those wars that were very clear-cut, in a way. The evil is obvious, but unfortunatley 'modern wars', are not so clear.

No suggestions for improvement. Your writing buddy, Abby

Thank you so much for your kind words.
The "evil" in this world is, I believe, from within, not without. Even so, men have learned that a covert plan succeeds where an overt plan failed. May we stop the madness here before it is repeated.
    Thank you again,
