This is really a touching piece. It is so sad when these things rob us of someone we love, even though you know they are still in there somewhere. Thanks for sharing.

Again, awesome piece, Mrs. KT! Poignant and touching, a very nice tribute to your mother, and a(candle) light of hope for others who may be suffering.
Well done.

life is a funny business and in a very unfunny way...it turns us on our ears and it feels so funny to speak to a parent (i've done the same with my mom before she passed away) as a child...this was lovely and true and sad and happy at the same time. yours, diana.

(Your author notes at the bottom of the poem are very touching. Its obvious how much you loved your dear mother and took good care of her in her declining years.)
This is a wonderful write which evokes much feeling and compassion. well done on this write, my friend

{{{{{{{{MS. KT}}}}}}}}},

What a wonderfully insightful, compassionate write. This verse and your author's notes really says a LOT about your character! The Earth needs more people like you, my friend!!!

I'm so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing beyond the Veil, and the difficult time before that... Yet, I feel a peacefulness in your accounts of that time - because you faced the situation with integrity. I applaud your compassion and willingness to stand by your Mother in her time of need...

HUGS,

Jan

This is an excellent and heart wrenching poem. I realize what dementia does to a person and the family. It hasn't happened in my own family as yet but to my neighbor. I helped care for this man because his wife was a great friend. He used to run away from her and come to my house and laugh about it because she didn't know where he was. Enough of that.
Your poem touches the heart. It has rhythm and movement. You can be proud of this work and proud in the fact that you cared for your Mom. Congratulations.

Itis sad when the role of parent and child changes, and even worse when they wait for a person who is there, yet they do not recognize them. Sad.
A really well done poem.

Hi Mrs. KT,

Loved this poem, so tender and sweet. I just spent a stressful week with my sister, since mostly what we talk abut is our less than successful relationships, not only with each other but our parents.

I always envy people with close family ties.

Great job,
Gayle
