Loved it, just loved it! What I like most is I kept picturing in my head (as I'm sure you did) what it might be like for an alien to land on Earth and meet someone like this for their first contact. Although being in the U.S., I'd have gone with redneck (ignorant rural sort, if you're not familar).
Funny all the way through, and maybe the only thing preventing me from giving this a six is I prefer my humor a little more subtle.
P.S. IT trainer, huh? I did that myself for a few years.

Well this one sure is, but it was more broad-based humor, wasn't it? It's like this: I can appreciate quality writing regardless of whether it's my style. This clearly qualifies.

Ah, gods, I enjoy your writing, snodlander. It's just so bloody funny. I grew up on English humour (well, I say "grew up" but interpret that as you will) - the Goons and Python. Your writing's in that wonderful self-deprecating and definitely twisted vein. Love it.
This is no exception; the idea of the unfortunate ambassador running into a pond-life variety of British bureaucracy is just too funny. Yellow lines and red tape. Perfect. There's not a thing to change in this.

What a beautiful idea for a real comedy. The message that seeped through, intentionally or otherwise, is also interesting viz. that the earth authorities are not really on guard against alien landings and that car park attendants have heard so many crazy excuses about parking in the wrong area that nothing surprised them anymore. Love the piece.
