As one who has lived a long life and am near the end of it, I would say, with feeling, that the main thing you do not want to lose is being positive. For Heaven sake, it sounds like you have a large, happy family, which You enjoy. As you get older those things you mentioned that you are scared of won't necessarily happen. Most people do forget words when they get older or rather, can't think of them on the spot, but friends and family are good about supplying them. The best thing, I think you can do as you age is keep a happy disposition and that's how your family will remember you.
I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, and I apologize if I do, but I do hope you wont be scared all the time. It doesn't help anything.

I do fear a lot of things, but they don?t consume me. Well? maybe spiders? they absolutely terrify me. ;)
This is just something that has been on my mind lately as I?ve watched my dad?s decline? His mind is still strong, especially for an 89 year old, but his hearing and sight are all but gone. He?s always on the outside looking in when we have family gatherings, no matter how much we try to include him. It?s a little scary to think that might be me some day, but I have a long ways to go before I?m his age. I plan on enjoying a lot of time with my family and special moments between now and then.

It?s hard, but I guess it?s a blessing that he?s never been super close to anyone. That used to bother me but now, I feel like it?s his saving grace.
