We can see the reaction of the poet, but what is her reaction? We can easily speculate, and it really make sour imaginations go in new directions. Thank you for this poem.

Hi Gypsy, a beautiful woman makes everyone's heart beat, but especially the heart of a man. The greatest beauty comes from within, and that beauty is most powerful. I love your artwork. Where do you get all of your beautiful photos? Well done. Good sensory appeal. Xo. M

Again, so many metaphors and possible meaning. You do this do well and keep your readers thinking. That's a really good thing. We need to engage brain more often. Wonderful poem and presentation.

What an ekphrastic delight! That image is mesmerizing...
Another masterpiece...
You raise the bar, Marival!
I love that the final line "to the final line"
So many ways to make interpret that!

I guess if you were called a bench back then, you would just hope for it to be a compliment. The meaning was quite varied. Lol. But I'm guessing in this poem, the smitten meant it as a compliment. Gretchen

I deleted the wench and wrote girl. I did it before I read your review. I was inspired by the picture and she looked like wench to me but the sound was off.
Thank you very much, Gretchen

I often thought that "wench" was not a very complimentary term for women but your list covers a wide range of meanings. I like the racing down to the "final line" - wonder if the narrator was in a hurry to finish something.

I don't know why I chose wench...it was a poor choice. I changed it before I read your review.
Thank you very much, big sister.

There has to be some benefit to being a man, this is a wonderful read, as I see the man describing this woman/wench as breath taking (final line)
beautifully written and presented****kahpot

Isn't it funny, I'd like to know the original meaning of wench, I suspect it was very complimentary, like lady, or madame, but comeliness is short term and useful, but nothing else, beautifully written Gypsy, blessings Roy

I changed the word 'wench' for 'girl'. It sounds better.

Nice, striking portrait and flower picture in the artwork.
Good oxymoron in beautiful wench.
Hmm! What is the final line a metaphor for? Sexual/sensual satisfaction from the lovely wench? Or is this a writing muse wench?
