This is excellent dialogue only. I see it as between a husband and wife because the conversation and offers to make things right sound too mature for it to be a daughter. The wife would be the one to more than a pair of shoes. She wants her husband to go the extra mile to atone.

A really cute dialogue only story. I took it as husband and wife, but can see where it would fit with several different scenarios. It said a lot about how people can work through differences in relationships. It was well written and thought provoking,

This was an interesting dialogue. I happened to think it sounded like a mother and her adult child, son or daughter. That is the fun of dialogue only. You can tell a story without having to fill in a lot of narrative.

Thank you so very much for your kind review. I appreciate it. It has been an interesting thing for me to get the reviews and find out how different people see it as being a different in different ways and different scenarios. Actually, when I wrote it, it was between the husband and his wife.

patcelaw, your title, the picture, theme, tone and banter is probably be-
tween two people with enough of a personal relationship to disagree about
issues and still be able to work things out...It's very apparent that this matter wasn't and argument that couldn't be worked out...In fact, it appears the matter was resolved to both parties satisfaction. Good luck in
the contest. teafor2

Thank you so very much for your kind review. It is much appreciated. I am a bit puzzled by the four star rating, however.

If you received a four star rating it was at typo, however, I can return to correct it.

I chose to hear it a s a dialogue between a husband and a wife. As I read it, I felt that he was trying too hard. The you surprised us with her added request. That gave me two thoughts. First, "Give an inch, take a mile came to mind", as her thought. Second, "I walked right into that one. Should have known," as his thought. Overall a cute story. Dialogue Only nicely done. Good luck in the contest.

nicely done, Just like a woman who is not thankful for the little things in life. always wants more. I found this to be sad and true of a lot of women. Hope you have a good day.

Wonder who is paying for the new shoes (and perhaps the dress)? That would really show that she is sorry for upsetting her. Sounds like she has to do a lot to make amends. A fun entry for the dialogue contest - sending good wishes.

Great idea, and I loved the ending. Yes, what not go for the new dress as long as she's in a giving and forgiving mood. My one thought is to loosen up the language a bit. Maybe use more contractions. Something like "After we've finished the dishes, how about we go shopping for that new pair of shoes you've been wanting? My treat." Just a suggestion. Also identify the speakers. If it's Mom receiving the apology, you could included it simply. "Mom, after we've finished the dishes..... There you have the addition. This does sound like something mother and daughter. Best of luck. judi

Thank you so much for your very kind review. I appreciate it very much. Didn?t identify the characters in the scenario because I wanted to leave it to the viewers or readers to determine whether it be mother and daughter or whether it be husband and wife. It works either way.

You reveal a demanding woman in the partnership of this short dialogue. She doesn't seem to be easily pleased. This reflects the situation that many couples live through, and the conversation is realistic. Well done. kay
