I always you stories about Sunny and the grandchildren. This was interesting and imagine very frustrating for your husband. He likely will put her in the car seat next time. Some of us learn by doing it wrong.

Dogs are wonderful critters, smart and devoted. Have often said, and totally believe, dogs make better people than most of the two-legged species could ever hope to.

Would have thought "Pa" would have put him in the car before opening the garage door.

Appears Tuesdays are quite the family outing for you.

Dogs do not need to use words. They speak their own language. All one needs to do is listen to their transmitted communications to know what a dog is saying.

Elaine has always been the No. 1,man with both the cats and the dogs, it's we have 5kg Moodle and our youngest leaves her 38kg female Rottweiler as doggy day care, they are the best of friends, but a huge difference in size, well done, blessings Roy

For me, I found the font a little hard to read. But I enjoyed the story. You caught the personality of number Three with her behavior in the bus and her responses to the bus driver. I loved that Sunny missed you so much that he bolted across the road when the bus approached. What a sweet dog!

Thank you for pointing out the problem with the font. I have changed it now, so it will perhaps be easier to read. Yes, Sunny is very sweet. He knew things were not proceding as normal for a Tuesday. Thanks so much for a lovely review!

And there you have it! Sunny knows the routine and was determined to pursue you! I'm so glad no harm ensued (well, except for a bit of exasperation for "Pa.")

I love reading about both Sunny and your outings with your granddaughter's!

Thanks so much Karenina, for this super review. (It helps to write a lighter story in the midst of Jonathan's series.) I should have explained the changed routine to Sunny - I am sure he would have understood. (Seems he knows the Tuesday routine very well!) And given more explicit details to Pa.

Sunny should have a children's book series all his own!

    Guaranteed best sellers!

I would love to, but there are already lots of dog books. Of course I DO think Sunny is the best, and stories about him just MUST be the best, but I am not sure any publisher would agree. I'd probably have to self-publish. And find a way to include my true story of our cat that died and then came back to life. My kids always said it was my driving that jolted him back to life. (Only for about 45 minutes, but I did wait 24 hours before burying him, just to make sure!)

If I can locate a publisher with interest, would you submit?
reply by the author on 29-Mar-2024
Sure. Would love to! Would enjoy doing that, but it would take a bit of time to assemble them in a good order. Do you know someone?

Hmmmm. I'll PM you next week. My aunt recently published a children's book... I'll pick her brain!

Dogs are extremely devoted to their primary owner and feeder. I grew up with dogs, but my husband and I don't own one at our older ages because of the responsibility required. I enjoy watching dog videos on YouTube and know, you can't leave Sunny and expect him to act normal like he didn't notice you were missing. I enjoyed this story.

Hello Wendy,
its funny how much of a routine our pets can get in to. Obviously Sunny loves you very much. You can imagine the panic he must have felt at thinking he had been left behind. It's too bad that they can't understand what we're saying when we speak, life could be much easier. I'm glad everything turned out OK.
Blessings,
Tom

Thank you Tom. A lovely review, very understanding. Yes, he really did undestand the routine for Tuesdays and must have panicked, poor thing. I'll have to explain to him if I ever need to go early again - I'm sure he understands English - he's probably half-human! Lol.

Sam will be relieved that Sunny is okay. I'm going over to my son's house tonight. It's his fifty-eighth birthday. Sam had his thirteenth birthday last week. I will try to email his birthday picture.

Give Sunny's love to Sam, and birthday wishes. Tell him thirteen is not too old. My previous one made it to almost fifteen which is good for a large dog. And a happy birthday to Paul! Sunny is now nine and a half. Would love to see Sam's picture.
Thanks you for reviewing. Always appreciated.

Whoa!! That is a danger-filled love quest by Sunny! NOT good! And poor Pa!! Full of fear and anxiety, I'm sure, until Sunny was retrieved. Oy!! What did Miss Three have to say about it all, especially since it affected her house-of-cards To Do list!!

Was this correct: I had not put him in the car **ready.** He feared he'd been left behind and was on a

Or was it supposed to be 'already?' Again, I'm thinking it's idiomatic. I certainly knew what you meant, but I'm more curious than anything.

Great-though-terrifying story!! xoxo

I meant "ready to go" so I have clarified that bit, I hope. Thanks for the tip. Miss Three was okay, she went to have a nap a bit late, but now that she is three she is "a big girl", as I am frequently reminded, so the time for naps is fast coming to an end. None of mine continued with a daytime nap after they were eighteen months old, which was quite wearing at the time. meanwhile, may her naps continue a bit longer ....! I need the break ....
Thanks so much for a great review. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to Sunny! Especially if I was not with him.

He's so very smart and savvy. He was just helping his humans out because they'd obviously gotten off track.

Pa sounds a lot like me. I may not have clipped his lead on either and would have just trusted he would wait to get in the car. Ah, well, no real harm done, though I guess it's lucky your street isn't particularly busy. Who can figure the way animals think? Not us guys. You and my wife would have anticipated that and clipped the lead on first, I'm quite sure!

Lol. He often trots after me if I take something to the bin. No lead, but then he is always as close as my own shadow. Thanks so much for the lovely review. Appreciated.
