Well, it's definitely funny and entertaining, but I have to admit it certainly doesn't make your son-in-law's cooking sound very appetizing. Thanks for sharing.

Smart and quick rhymes and interesting topic. I enjoyed reading about Shoe Stew. I would not have thought of that. Good descriptive lines that bring about pictures and tastes. thank you for sharing.

I think I could eat undercooked carrots, but undercooked potatoes sound awful. We have to learn the hard way with cooking, but learn we do if we want to eat good food, I enjoyed your fun post, love Dolly x x x

I think this was a great entry for the "not funny but funny" writing prompt. I laughed at the story the poem told, and I liked your rhymes. I hope I never have to try "shoe stew." Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

An excellent entry for the Not Funny but Funny writing prompt. This poem gave me a chuckle along with stomach distress. :-) Definitely keep that man out of your kitchen for the health and safety of all involved. Nicely done. Good luck.

Haha, funny, yet truly unappetizing sounding. He gets points for trying, though. Well-done poem with original quirky title.
One suggestion for a fix:

He's afraid to cook it to long (too long)

Thanks for sharing! Julie :-)

This is so funny! Your poem about your son-in-law's cooking is both entertaining and, I'm afraid, just a little too relatable! The playful rhymes and witty descriptions paint a vivid picture of the disaster unfolding in the kitchen. haha. Great job!

This poem reminds me of the old folk tale "Stone Soup." Boy, but if it's based on a real event, someone in your family would need cooking lessons from scratch. Undercooked carrots definitely make soup less appealing. My mom said to always put those carrots in first, ha ha.
No wonder you end the poem: Dinner's been officially derailed
Suggestion: I would put an exclamation mark after 'derailed' in that last line.
