The answer to your question is simple, HarryT,
These politicians are not interested in what's "good" for the country, that's clear, its what's good for their careers, and their future that counts to them.
Those that want a man like trump to sit in the oval office again, seem to believe they will get what they want from him, and
that's not to continue working toward a true democracy, where everybody counts, not just some of us...
I'm not looking forward to this next election...
All the best to you...

You could not be more correct in your assessment of the politics in this country. Our only hope there are enough lovers of democracy to keep Trump out of the White House. Thanks for your feedback.

You're very welcome, I only wish enough people will realize that trump just isn't what this country needs, if we want to remain a nation that respects the constitution...
Take Care!
Warmly,
Victoria

I agree with this so much - and your Author's Notes, as well - that I want to vote for YOU for president!! Is it such a seriously vicious arena anymore. I stopped watching or reading or even talking about the news because it's just so stressful, nothing improves, and nothing gets solved. I think "barbaric" describes it best. It's like watching feral jungle animals.
Your picture is every bit as appealing as your message here, Harry. Good luck in the contest! xo

So does that mean I can use you as my write-in candidate?
-
Yes, for anything you have in mind.
-
Ooooh! Living on the dangerous side today, I see!!

Just enough for a little spice.

Is "hot tamale" a spice?
-
Well, I would really have to taste it to let you know for sure.

Let me know your availability.

When ever.

Harry,
I totally agree with your post. It seems so simple to do something to make our country better. The political rhetoric espoused solves nothing, except to create more sound bites.
IMHO your question mark is unnecessary, or should be placed after your concluding line.
Mark
P.S. Consider:
Sound bites, nothing done --
Why can't they just compromise
for our country's good?

I think this was a good entry for the political 5-7-5 contest. You got the syllable count and content right. You also raise a very good question ("Why can't they just compromise?"). Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

One thing that really bothers me about politics. Today is the fact that so many young people are only educating themselves with soundbites from the media about the political parties. That is absolutely the stupidest way I ever heard of two determine who you should vote for and political office, Patricia
