Hello Tom,
perhaps it takes one to know one, but I rather enjoyed your ramblings here, and since I don't want to consider myself demented if I think as you do, I'll say the writing leans towards the mystifying. I have issues when I pray. For one, I feel like I all too often go down the same path, asking the Lord for protection and blessing for my loved ones, the cops, the military, the country and it becomes just a habit. Most times, when I want to speak something of a more meaningful nature, I find myself wondering in places that have nothing to do with my prayer, thinking of everything from fishing to sex for crying out loud. Then I have to reel my thoughts in and start over, its so frustrating. I'm glad to know that you're a praying man. We all have a lot to pray for these days, perhaps more than at any other time in our lives. Thanks for sharing this thought provoking post. Have a blessed day.
Tom

If this wasn't written by you, I could write it as my next release for we are alike re: prayer. Besides He knows my needs, so outside of appreciation what can I ask for? Longer life? I accept the condition I'm in but the larger part of my life is behind me and the shorter part not nearly long enough, or is it?

From what little we've shared, there is no doubt you're a good person. But like myself, It might be better for outsiders not to always know exactly what's churning through the catacombs deep inside our minds. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I like me and Mike. I am pleased with what I have accomplished. What is inside my thoughts are accomplishments or dreams, fictitious or reality, and they amuse me, so why not share, as someone else might enjoy them or I might get a rise by kibitzing what they don't like. It's a Polish thing. Thanks for being in my corner more than most. Tom

I always enjoy everything you write. But sometimes I'm a little jealous of your adventurous mind. :-)

This is a post full of internal rhyme. Or at least, there were two lines I noticed that:
Some folks incant prayers before closing their eyes;
while others pray as they arise.
I like your reference back to "Mork and Mindy" in the second to last line. I was just looking up some characters in that show a day or two ago. I guess we could all work on praying more.

Sometimes ... even the insensible, or should that be unsensible, make sense.
I cannot explain how the human mind works, but it is amazing how we can formulate sentences automatically, and then parse them into stories,

Lol. You are quite special and I don't think either adjective does justice to your mind. Your writings have a unique style, undoubtedly reflecting your thoughts, which may be similar to the thoughts of others, who don't or can't express them in quite the same way!! Write what pleases you in a way which pleases you.

I enjoyed reading this! It's sincere, honest and direct, no holds barred. Also a good dose of humour and fun. I don't think there's anything demented about such behaviour, probably a sign of dementia if we don't have these inner communications, especially given the mad world in which we live! Well done, Tom! Thank you, Ms. Debbie I hope it gives the enjoyment to others that it gave to me; otherwise my mind "might be a terrible thing to waste."

I enjoyed your mystifying experience of dreaming you were praying. I'd love to know more about why we dream the things we do.
This reminds me of movie I just watched on Amazon Prime called Mountain Top. It was a 2017 movie but I really enjoyed. It is about a lawyer turned preacher and lay preacher framed for embezzling. The lay preacher talked to God all the time and addressed him as Papa. God talked backed to him in dreams, They were symbolic dreams, but he could figure out the meaning and knew things that got in trouble. He wrote letters to people who was mixed with some dishonest. To others he would messages God gave him to tell them. He was framed because he knew too much and the lawyer/preacher represented him.

Given thoughts and comments posted regarding this release, did prophets see the future when awake, or did God communicate with them as they slept? Hmm??

I think God commucated both ways. Mary saw an actual angel, but Joseph and antother prophet was told he was promised child in a dream. There were a lot of dreams going on in Joseph's time.

Even a broken clock is right, twice daily. This was (is) a good, somewhat comical writing. I can relate to the "Hey Dad, what's up" segment. The Big Guy knows who we're addressing.

Hey, I look forward to the next demented segment which should mystify us readers.

John

Great. Stay tuned in casually as who knows when the mind will reascend and post another mystifying tale. Thank you.

Yeah, I had to six this. It is very well written. There is an air of levity and/or brevity to your writing

Most enjoyable. You are a talent, Sir Tom. One that I do do enjoy. Hammer down!

I agree with you that listening to God is so much more trustworthy than watching any news program. I often go off into my own mind. Sometimes armed with a machete to cut away the b.s and other times drinking an ice cold lemonade to enjoy the sights. This was a unique and fun read. Keep them coming. Gretchen
