This is another excellent chapter. I can identify with Layla, my mom raised her girls to be independent. I married a guy who appreciated that, it has been 47 years. You are moving the story along nicely. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

I have always valued my independence. My husband appreciated it too and was convenient when he passed that I would be able to move forward. It was rough but I am still plugging on

My goodness, Sandra. I can't believe you've reader all these chapters today. I feel bad taking up so much of your time, but at the same time I am exhilarated that you love it. There's four childhood friends and the fifth one (didn't) who have the tattoo. So it's not a good clue because it could have been any of them. They need more proof.

Then Alyssa calls and Layla receives the ultimate surprise, someone grabs her sister and Alyssa screams that he is going to kill her. Great cliffhanger and I can hardly wait for the next chapter.

This chapter seems almost like another story as we learn how much Layla hates surprises and wants to keep her independence. Yes, Layla is moving from one lifestyle to another, one she has no idea how to deal with. She's headstrong and will jump into the fire without thinking things through...Let's hope for the best.

Yes, Layla isn't prepared for what lies ahead with her sister, but she definitely wasn't prepared for a marriage with Ryan. Maybe she'll find herself somewhere in the chapters ahead.

Yes, there are actually five boys who grew up in a rough part of town... four have the tattoo. they made a pact to always have each others back....time went on and they went separate ways.... some like Frankie held true to his promise.
