Oh yes, an original take on the horror theme here which I enjoyed reading! It all starts off quite prosaically until the tone starts to change in the second stanza and, by the third, she's a goner too and then a tasty addition to the stew in the fourth! Excellent! Well carried off in verse form too! Great contender! Good luck! Debbie

This was very horrific. The poem reads and flows well. Each line connected well with the next. The last stanza closes well. Your picture compliments the poem. Nice job.

Read them all, and although they were horror stories about rats and killers and such, I liked your "stew" story best. I think it was clever, with an unexpected ending. I think you might have the winner with this one. That said, I've found that my favorite usually comes in at number two. Good luck.

Another poem that is mind-boggling. Do you ever remember the story about Ed Gein, who always ate human flesh? This story-like poem reminded me of him. Check out his story sometimes. It is a true horror story.

I have heard that story...very gruesome. He actually made lampshades out of human skin. Thank you for reading my poem.

Short sweet and what a treat. It entices the palate and makes one mouth water but then dissipates it all in one fell swoop. I was so suprised ans hungry at the same time.

I really liked this poem, and the ending was unexpected! You set the scene well! I like how you talk about the lovers are in a stew, when Brad is actually already in the stew! Great job!

"You're lover's in a stew,
from me finding about the two of you."
Oh, ho, ho, I knew we were in big trouble right then!
You told a complete story very briefly in poetic form with high impact. Nicely done!
perhaps?", she said (perhaps?" she said)

Well, I've just finished re-reading "Hannibal" about Doctor Hannibal Lecter so the ending of your tale was maybe unsurprising, but even the good evil Doctor would have appreciated the calm nonchalance with which you disposed of the treacherous duo.
I suspect 'compliment' should really be complement in this context.
I enjoyed the gruesome climax and the lighthearted tone with which it was delivered.
Good luck.

There is nothing quite like a chunky hot soup full of nourishment during the winter months and I enjoyed this recipe, then you suddenly turned this into a horror story and added blood to the mix here, an inventive murder story, love Dolly x
