Well written Beth, and you're right love does transcend time and that final journey into the next stage, one wouldn't stop loving a child, and one shouldn't stop loving their life long partner, so many memories shared. Nicely written in pentameter and abbey rhyming, well done my friend, well done, blessings Roy

Oh Lisa, I didn't want it to make anyone cry. I know it must have touched a vulnerable area in your heart. In the end you can find joy knowing you have precious memories if you lost someone recently.
Thank you so much for the revies.

A really beautiful tribute to your late husband and congratulations on such a successful marriage. My wife and I are come up for fifty years in August this year, though we did have an eleven year break after 24 years. We then remarried.

Thank you so much Bob. I'm so glad you liked my poem and I'm glad you have that kind of marriage as well even though you took a little break.

Such a beautiful poem of love of long duration. Not many people can attest to sixty years of love and happiness, with no regrets. I wishe you every success in the contest - a very skilfully written and moving entry.

Thank you, Wendy. I was fortunate to have 61 years. He was nine year older than me. I glad I have the great memories that I have.

Hello Beth, this poem is absolutely beautiful. It is heartfelt and filled with loving memories. Of special note:

Although I can no longer see your face,
there's not a single day I would erase,
(Wow, that's says it all.)

Silky rhyming. Lovely photo choice. A pleasure to read. Well done.

Beautifully expressed, Beth! You and Evan had a deep and lifelong love that kept growing over the years no matter how hard it got at times and that shows that is real love that never dies. Best wishes in the contest!

This is a tender tribute to a lost love and the faith that you will meet again. One lifetime is not enough for those that love each other.
Excellent rhyming in your well-written quatrains.
Best of luck in the contest.

Beautifully written. A tribute to everlasting love. My husband and I will be celebrating our 60th anniversary this year on leap year day. What was I thinking? Good luck with the contest.

Congratulation for a long marriage as well. I think I might have waited until March 1. You only get to celebrate on the actual day ever four years. Thanks so much for the review and comments.

Thank you. We eloped and didn't realize there were 29 days in Feb. that year. He gave some pretty nice gifts every four years. LOL
    You're welcome.

This is simply and beautifully expressed, recording the love you still have in your heart for your late husband. This tribute to him and the many decades you shared together perfectly fits the contest brief and I wish you luck! Debbie

This is beautiful Beth. I totally agree, love doesn't die with them, we keep them with us in our hearts and through our memories. A beautiful presentation for the Valentine's contest and I wish you good luck in it.
