I think the big fluffy snowflakes are gorgeous. I love watching them fall down. Of course, we rarely see them in Texas. DARN!! Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. It made me homesick for the Midwest. Good luck with the contest.

Thank you so much Barbara. I haven't seen snow here for more than twenty years, and to be honest, I don't miss it either. But this just came to me. Old memories from way back in Denmark. Thanks again. Ulla xcx

Your words and the chosen winter wonderland scene paint a warm, comforting scene before a crackling fire in the reader's mind. I love the thought of snowflakes knitting together - adds an old fashion memory to my thoughts. Great job, Ulla! Good luck in the contest.

Thank you so very much, Carol. I'm so glad you liked my little haiku. Hugs, Ulla:)))

This is a lovely little haiku. It is a good way to look at cold winter nights as good memories of being cosy. I have to start thinking of them as that way, Since I hate snow an long winter nights, I'll try to remember your haiku and see if I can improve my attitude. This should do well in the contest.

Beth, you and I alike! I hate snow and cold weather with a vengeance. But I do like to sit with a warm fire in front of me. Where I live, we seldom see any snow, and when we do it will be some passing flakes and it's gone. As I write this we have day temperatures into the seventies. I'm so glad my haiku could help you with those long and cold winter nights. Ulla xcx

I love cosy nights in winter, even more perfect if you have a nice warm fire to sit by. I loved your imagery of the snowflake in this piece. We haven't really had any snow at all this winter where I am in the UK, and I don't think we'll get any this winter. Good luck in the contest.

So do I. I had my log fire on as I wrote this. In the part of Spain I live, we don't have any snow. Thanks for great review. Ulla:)))

Perfect little haiku! I like the personification of the snowflakes "knitting" and the alliteration in "pattern of perfect" and the satori ending of the "cozy nights ahead." Best wishes in the contest!

A wonderful haiku for the contest. Good syllables count and connection between lines. The juxtaposition between the snow scene and cozy warm inside is fantastic. Good luck!

Winter scenes always places a chill on me. It has its beauty for sure, but the cold tells the answer to my being cold. You did well with this. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much, Ben. I hate the cold myself. This was a throwback from when I lived in colder climates. Thanks again. Ulla:)))
Comment from Gloria ....
I think this is a delightful haiku, as I can see the knitting of snow will leave a blanket to make a cozy night ahead.
Impactful and vivid imagery.
Wishing you great luck with the Contest Committee. :)

Cozy night indeed. Beautiful though and why all our boys were conceived in New York. LOL!
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for upcoming haiku,

I always enjoy, in these short verses, when chill and warmth come together so that the reader can have the best of both worlds: the chill of beautiful landscape blended with the anticipation of welcoming, cosy and replenishing nights. Winter not so bad after all:) Well done and good luck, Ulla! Debbie
