As one who joined the club last December, I love your perspective.

Not a thing in my life "feels" seventy! It's a number that seems to astound those around me, but I'm still the "me" I've always been...

My mom died at sixty. Every morning I awaken with the thought I've already had a decade more than she.

My "grands" are 10 to 20. No question they put the golden in golden years!

You're the second person this week who went back and read this post. I just did the same. Thank you for sharing this kind review with me. I truly appreciate it.

I would give you a six but I am all out. I am completely new at this. I also am 70. I am awed by your having published. Is writing your day job or did you retire from something else? I would be honored if you took the time to read other postings of mine. I covet honest feedback.
Oh on yours, one tiny spelling fix. Eaiser.
A friend of mine, a year older, said "Old is 15 years older than I am". Seriously, it is relative. I also am a cougar. Esther

LOL Thank you for going back and reading this. I retired three years ago. I taught first grade for 23 years.

First of all, Happy Birthday, barbara!
I can tell you from firsthand experience, having turned 70 on July 1st of this past year, that 70 is the new... 40!
I feel wonderful!
Apparently, I "haven't changed," - at least from the mouths of three people I recently saw - since I last saw them... 35 years ago. Now... just between you and me, my first reaction was, "GAWD! I must have looked terrible 35 years ago!" But I just keep laughing, smiling, writing, and loving life... as you do as well!

Onward!
Thank you for sharing!

LOL I had to laugh. I can't understand when I look in the mirror, I have aged, but when I see former friends, I expect them to look the same. They look good but have aged. Thank you for understanding.

Sorry to be late on wishing you a happy, my friend. I've had an upper respiratory infection and just saw the doctor yesterday. I started my meds today.

I enjoyed your thoughts and quite agree. We have a hybrid car, I don't drive any any ore, but Jack gets 56 miles to the gallon on average and no charging issues. His brother has an electric car, a Tesla, and what a nightmare if you are traveling long distances. An hour, sometimes longer, to get the dang thing charged? Then, that doesn't get him very far either.

America is not even close to being ready for all electric cars. Toyota is going back the other way, and rolling out hybrids this year. It's the best alternative for now, it really is. This is our second hybrid and it's wonderful. $33-35 a month on gas, my friend.

Send you my best today ad always and blessing abundant,
Sal Xos

Thanks for sharing the artwork and musings about your birthday. I am 3 years older than you, and I can't remember when I turned 70, ha, ha. Who would have thought that would happen. I used to do Tai Chi and aerobics back, make that way back, in the day. Now exercise is a daily walk.

You definitely have a lot on your mind. For my sanity, I try not to think too much about problems. It's enough to keep track of myself! I like your l line about "retiring from retirement." That is a good one. There are always things that need to be done. Sometimes I get to them, sometimes they wait until I do! Hope you had a nice birthday!

I hope you had a great birthday, Barbara. Seventy is such an amazing milestone and one that should be celebrated. I hope you did.

While I share many of your frustrations with this world, this one was most identifiable: "I've come to realize through the years that I have very little patience with people who choose not to learn."

You are an inspiration and set a great example for all of us. May you have many more milestones yet to celebrate. Have a great weekend! - Jamison

Oh, I just love this. Speaking as one who will turn 76 later this month I relate to everything you wrote. I remember you and your writing for years ago when I was on this site. You only improve with age. I believe we could sit down for a coffee or tea and have a grand conversation. Especially on writing - my favorite topic. I don't know if our opinions come from our age, but I suspect it has something to do with it. Thanks for sharing. --Judy

Thanks for sharing your ancient advice ! hahaha I am very close behind you I turned 68 in August. I agree with you in all areas. I have been here less lately, winter treats me very badly, and using heating pads and heating blankets makes me sleep a lot. Love to you and yours you young thing! Karen
